Hi Andrew - Tip should generally be in the center but it really matters if the liner lock doesn't operate smoothly.. As far as the kydex - adjusting the sheath retention screws should allow it to loosen up significantly.. please contact jeff@justholsterit to make sure you are loosening the retention screws correctly. Hey Kirk & Vincent - Some of the handles on the Black/Stonewashed pieces did have a grayish color and we apologize for those with that issue. A drop of silicone lubricating oil will bring out the black color.
