  Paint them! I think a nice simple way of doing them would be to do all the base colours, wash with thinned Strong Tone or Agrax Earthshade then redo the base colours. No highlights, just the shade in the recesses. And have fun flicking paint/washes at them (mask bits with Blu-tack).
