Our device does offer multi-user features, but for your needs, there are a couple of things to keep in mind: everyone would need to install the PocketCloud app, which might be a bit inconvenient for quick or temporary sharing. Also, managing multiple user accounts could get a little tricky if you have different people joining and leaving your trips. That said, the easiest and most flexible way is to use the SMB sharing protocol. With SMB, your friends can connect wirelessly to the PocketCloud device directly — no app required — and pick exactly which files they want to upload. It’s super convenient and lets everyone back up just the photos and videos they want, without any hassle.

Hi Nick, the M.2 drive in the dock does not support simultaneous access via LAN and USB-C. However, when the dock is connected via USB-C, it will function as a standard M.2 enclosure, allowing you to access the drive through that connection.

Hi Nick, yes, it can run 24/7 without any issues. Under high-load conditions (with a 128GB SSD, USB drive, and SD card connected), the PocketCloud consumes around 12W. When used with the docking station in the same scenario, the maximum power consumption is about 24W. When idle and without an SSD installed, the power consumption will be significantly lower, though we don’t have exact measurements for that specific state.
