Hi Andrew, Nowhere do we claim this product to be a cure for the coronavirus which would of course be ridiculous! The only thing that protects against this virus is keeping away from contacting the actual droplets as this is an airborne disease. The virus will live for a time on any product but copper based metals such as brass have the smallest duration of live virus and would be my item of choice (only second to disposable gloves) to touch any contaminated surface and then put it in my fabric pocket for later use. Wiping down the Hygiene Hand with alcohol is of course the recommended course of action before touching your face after handling.

Hi Fearless, See this information below about brass... - copper is a soft metal so you couldn't make this entirely out of copper. * The Environmental Protection Agency has registered copper, brass and bronze as antimicrobial and is allowing public health claims to be made about their effectiveness against Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA, E. coli O157:H7, Enterobacter aerogenes and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Copper alloys are a supplement to existing infection control practices and are not a replacement for good hygiene and surface disinfection. (copper.org)

Hi Jurgen, The study we linked to the New England Journal of Medicine explains that Coronavirus specifically will stay on copper and brass for a couple of hours as opposed to plastic and stainless steel where it can last for days. We do recommend wiping down and cleaning the Hygiene Hand as well.
