Instead of sticking with a traditional class system we decided to use a skill based system, pretty much like in the Elder Scrolls series.

The entire world in our game consists of blocks which can be placed and destroyed, allowing to freely modify the environment to your needs.

Since our game is a 2D sidescroller, we are adding twitch based combat and movement from platform games like Metroid and Castlevania.

Why have we decided to go with 2D instead of the more popular 3D?

The answer is 2D content is much faster to produce, which means we can implement many more features, items, weapons, armors and monsters.
