PERSONALIZED POSTER UPDATE 2!
POSTER UPDATE 1!!
Exactly 10 years ago, in April 2006, the first Bendito Machine short film premiered on the internet. Since that date and up to today, we produced 5 episodes of this unusual animated series dealing with our unique and dependent relationship with machines.
Throughout these years, the shorts have been screened at over 500 festivals around the world and have earned 86 international awards from audiences and juries in many countries, something that makes us deeply happy.
The series tells about the catastrophic evolution of a naive species and its conspicuous bond with technology; a love-hate relationship that offers a nonsensical reflection of what we are ourselves.
Reminiscent of the primitive shadow theaters, Bendito Machine is a combination of industrial mechanization and a prehistoric and hysteric humanity, battered as it faces its own evolution, at the mercy of technological advances and unknown forces.
You see, nothing unfamiliar at this point, where we soon won’t be able to recognize between the real and the virtual. Fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride!
In 2012 we successfully concluded our previous campaign to fund the production of episode V. This year, on the tenth anniversary of the holy machines, we want to produce the final episode of the saga and close the loop with the most epic installment of all, where we will reveal a prophecy of our future, inevitably linked to our past.
Episode VI will tell about the journey of a lonely and lost machine, searching for answers at the boundaries of the universe, while a primitive species faces the mystery of a supreme force, which will inevitably change their existence and bring them to a point of no return, tragic, hilarious and disturbing as it is our life itself.
Without going into detail to avoid spoiling the story, it will be the most staggering of the episodes, the grand finale of 10 years of Bendito Machines.
Here is a small and early teaser for the final episode:
Through our studio Zumbakamera, before in Barcelona and now from the pleasant island of Mallorca, we have produced all kinds of projects, like video clips, content for documentaries and short films, while collaborating in video game projects, illustration and design in projects around the world.
During the early years of the series, Bendito Machine was produced entirely by myself, but the main team is now slightly larger and to this date we can say that we are already 3 humans and a cat aboard the Bendito project.
Julie Reier, my lovely wife and traveling companion, production manager and above all, great composer in charge of the music and sound design of the series (in the video she is holding the posters ;)
Pau Martinez, superb animator, good friend and indirectly, responsible for taking me into vector animation, back then in 2005.
Myself, in charge of the scripts, animation and design of the series, trying to carry to a safe port each Bendito Machine since 2006.
We also have the collaboration of two great writers and friends with whom we always find the wildest solutions to shape this universe of machinery; Jesús Olmo and Ricardo Espinosa.
On this occasion, we also have the participation of our dear friends and Academy award winners, Autour de Minuit, a leading producer and distribution company from France, in charge of the international sales and distribution of Bendito Machine.
Our colleagues and good friends from Paramotion Films, a renowned production and post-production company in Madrid, will be involved in different stages of the production. These guys are also in charge the International Market of Animation, Videogames and New Media, 3D Wire, responsible for the online magazine 3dwire.es, dedicated exclusively to the promotion of animation and video games.
And if that were not enough, we also have the support of the International Fantastic Film Festival Yubari in Hokkaido, Japan, where we hope to release this last holy installment in February 2017.
And last but not least, the absolute king and commander in chief, Momo.
We have prepared a series of exclusive rewards for you all. Take a look and choose your favorites!

An exclusive DVD edition of the entire series, with extra material and a collection of 10 postcards inside. Will be produced with care and affection by the wonderful team of Cameo, the leading distribution company of audiovisual content in Spain and Europe.
Below you'll find the summary for all the rewards:
Making movies is a costly affair, so our goal is based on ensuring the minimum required to devote the time and attention needed for a production of these characteristics.
All proceeds will go to cover the production costs of the team, considering that a significant percentage (about 25% to 30%) will be allocated to cover the production and shipping of the rewards, plus Kickstarter and Amazon comissions.
That said, if we can overcome our goal, we will be able to expand our team and accelerate the production process, in addition to offer some extra rewards we have up our sleeve in case the campaign is a success.
We are truly grateful for the support throughout these years from all our Bendito friends around the world, thank you all!
Risks and challenges
Like any animation production, risks are an inherent part of it. The possibilities of encountering unforeseen delays along the way are multiple, but achieving our goal in this campaign, we will have the resources to devote the necessary time a production like this deserves.
With this intention, we'll be constantly updating the progress of the project so everyone can be aware of the evolution of each stage of the project.
