Call for Beta Testers
We got tons of comments and emails after the last update, almost universally agreeing that we should use a beta group for the first run of 50, so we’re moving forward with that plan!
We’ve already had a bunch of volunteers on the technical side, but something a lot of you have emphasized is the importance of including testers who have a varied background with espresso and varying familiarity with the technology.
So, we’re issuing a formal call for anyone who wants to beta test. Essentially the only requirements:
- You are a Kickstarter backer (no one from outside the original Kickstarter group yet, sorry!)
- You have the time and interest to use the machine every day (hopefully many times a day) once you get it, give us feedback in the form of emails and possibly phone calls, and potentially work through some over-the-phone troubleshooting with us.
You don’t need to have any special skills, and we’ll try to give preference to people earlier in the backer queue. To reiterate, after these first 50 units, we’ll resume fulfilling rewards in the order that they were pledged for.
Beta units are most useful to everyone if they go to people who have enough time to write us back, so we just ask that you use your judgment regarding how much time/interest you have in doing that. Also, though we expect to be shipping fully functional machines, these first machines will potentially require a bit more troubleshooting than later machines, so keep that in mind.
We don’t expect to go beyond the first 200 or so backers in looking for willing beta testers, but if you’re in that group and have particular interest in helping us with this, and the time to spare, email email@example.com. If you’ve already emailed, no need to email again.
We're heartily looking forward to shipping the first of these babies out! Let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and thanks again!
