"Many Talents" Videos + Projects We Love
The Many Talents of Christian Doyle
"Wait, Christian Doyle is directing?" we hear you ask. "Does he even do that?"
In fact, Christian is a talented director! Later this year we'll be releasing his feature directing debut, Attacking the Darkness, and it couldn't have turned out better. In fact, the Gen Con test screening audience called it "your funniest film since Dorkness Rising."
But why take our word for it?
That's why we sent Brian Lewis (Carrow) on a fact-finding mission to assess Christian's qualifications for the job. Over the next week we'll be sharing his findings, beginning with today's video: "Talent #53". If you have friends or JQ fans on the fence about pledging for this campaign, we're confident that this investigative series will help them join the Christian Doyle bandwagon!
And here's a bonus video in the series, not yet publicly released!
Projects We Love
These are the Kickstarter projects that we're personally throwing a few extra dollars at this month. A number of friends and colleagues from our community have super cool stuff going on and we're happy to support them.
MYTHICA: THE IRON CROWN
From our friends at Arrowstorm Entertainment, the world's most ambitious indie fantasy saga continues with a fourth feature film. They're looking for finishing funds for post-production and are already into stretch goals!
THE RANGERS: COMBAT CARD GAME
A card game from the makers of the recently-released The Rangers, this takes place in a fantasy world rich with backstory and intrigue. We've had the chance to hear some of their plans for the story and it's super cool.
DRAGON: THE GAME
A dragon simulator, this one looks super promising. We don't know the designers and programmers, but we DO know fantasy artist Rob Carlos, whose dragon paintings and drawings for the game are top notch. We'd love to see his dragon designs brought to three-dimensional life. (Rob did the art for the "Shadow's Dungeon" module that we published for Hands of Fate and totally rocked it.)
ULTIMATE SCHEME: THE BOARDGAME
From Sasquatch Studios comes a board game about evil geniuses competing to bring their evil plans to fruition. We've known the Sasquatch team for many years—in fact, a number of us game with them on a regular basis. But don't take our word for it: here's a video of our own Nathan Rice (Roderick) and Steve Wolbrecht (Composer) playtesting the game.
