Meet The Zombie Nativity
Put it out at Halloween, Leave it out till Christmas. The Zombie Nativity is the best way to add a little bit of the undead into your Holiday Season. The Zombie Nativity is comprised of 5 vinyl figurines - Zombie Baby Jesus, The Virgin Mary, Joseph, The Angel and a Zombie donkey.
The Zombie Nativity is sold as a set of 5 figurines for display on your Holiday table.
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you eaters of men. For whoever exalts himself will be eaten, and whoever humbles himself will also be eaten."
Why does the world NEED a Zombie Nativity?
What in the world is happening to Christmas this year? Starbucks isn't putting Christmas stuff on their Red Cups this year. Some Christians think there's a war being declared on Christmas. Glenn is missing on The Walking Dead. And many advertisers are skipping Black Friday altogether this year.
Maybe, a new spin on the Nativity is just what we need to put a little yuletide cheer in the holiday season? (Ghoul-tide Cheer?) We digress. Moving on.
Simply put - Zombies are still really popular. And we're really happy about that. From "The Night of the Living Dead" to CW's iZombie to AMC's Fear the Walking Dead, Zombies are very central to today's culture, and it's a shame they only get 1 holiday. Why not 3: Halloween, Christmas AND #ZombieJesusDay (Easter).
Designing The Zombie Nativity
Who said Zombies can't be cute while retaining their lust for eating flesh? We wanted them to be both appealing and skin-peeling. We were inspired by our favorite Funko Pop and designer vinyl toys from world-renowned artists like KidRobot. So, working together with our designers, we modeled our Zombies to be cartoon-y and fun, rather than revolting and grotesque. After all, we want your Grandma to leave her set out on the mantle, year after year.
Prototyping & Final Paint
"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and eat their brains."
Using 3D printing technology, we were able to prototype our final designs. Then we had them sanded and painted to final Pantone specs.
And finally, animation :) Okay, this was just for fun, but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

Risks and challenges
The Zombie Nativity, while a unique item, is thankfully not paving the way in new/unknown manufacturing territory. However, because this is the flagship product of NerdTalk Toys, we understand that there could be unforeseen setbacks during this process.
Let's break it down:
1. Manufacturing: This is the area in which we are most lacking in experience. However, we are fortunate to have several friends in this field that have been most helpful. Our manufacturer is a contact vetted through our network, and because of this connection, as well as our dealings with them, we know them to be extremely reliable.
2. Shipping/Importing: Again, because this is our flagship product, we will be experiencing the joys of importing for the first time with Zombie Nativity. Thankfully, again, our network of friends has been very helpful in navigating this process. Because of the somewhat unpredictable nature of customs, we believe the greatest potential for delay is during the import process. We'll be updating our supporters during every step of the journey, so if there are any delays, you'll be the first to know (after us).
3. Fulfillment: At this time, we plan on fulfilling orders on our own (with the help of our very kind and understanding spouses). However, if we greatly exceed our goal (oh wouldn't that be lovely!), we will explore the most efficient and cost-effective fulfillment options available to us.
While we can't promise a perfect process, we CAN promise you complete transparency. By becoming a Zombie Nativity supporter, you're becoming part of our Zombie Nativity family.
