Since moving to New York, I have been enamored by people with striking 'fits on the subway.
They sit across from you, and you can't stop peeking at their impeccable ensemble. They mind their own business while being keenly aware that they are the best dressed person in that dingy train car. Then they disappear as quickly as they boarded.
In an homage to these folks, I am making a series of illustrations that capture the casual dazzlement that sometimes blesses the New York City subway.
The series of prints will include 5 illustrations.
I plan to print 20 of each print (thus making 100) and I will select 2 to have made into stickers.
A little about me:
I am a lifelong illustrator and people-observer. You know those people who bring sketch books to parks to draw people and their cute dogs? (that's me) So it was no surprise I started drawing people's outfits during my daily commute.
Lately, I've been doing custom portrait commissions (as seen here).
Risks and challenges
There is a risk of delay since I will be using a printing company for the prints and their scheduling may change. I will be communicating with them and have plan Bs in place in case something comes up!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
