About this project
You find yourself in the distant land of Zipang, Japan. This is a place that is crumbling under the stress of military conflict, with feudal lords battling for power and ravaging all of the lands and all of the people around them in the process. In order to save this place, you must change the course of history, rewrite destiny and make a lasting impact. You will face unspeakable challenges, and war will become unavoidable.
Zipang Portable is a fast-paced “pick one, play one” card game, with stunning ukiyo-e style cards beautifully designed by Japanese artists. Players will dive into the greatest battle of the 16th century. Become Sengoku heroes, vying for the Shogun’s power in this compact, easy-to-learn, yet hard-to-master game. Play and find out. We have come to you, Kickstarter, for help raising $8,000. This start-up capital will cover the costs of printing our game, which includes 30 character cards, 30 Mangoku coins, 3 reference cards, and a rule sheet, in addition to marketing and distribution. It is 16th-century Japan, and you are a rising samurai during the chaotic Sengoku Period, a time of civil war and unrest. You must take part in successive campaigns to gain land and resources, while maintaining your honor, until one of your adversaries has nothing. After these campaigns cease, the one with the most resources (Mangoku Coins) becomes the all-powerful shogun.
During each campaign, you will use Character Cards to attack others and defend yourself, steal cards, take Mangoku Coins, reveal information, prevent damage, and even force an early end to the campaign.
But you'll need to strategize and decide whether to play a card with higher Battle Points to attempt an elimination attack on your opponent now, or keep that card in hand to defend yourself later. Play cards with high Honor Points now to interrupt your enemies' momentum, or reserve them to win the end of a campaign and all the Mangoku Coins in the center. It's all up to you—show your honor!

We understand this is our first published game and there are things we will encounter that could set us back. With that said, we want to give you complete confidence in our preparation. We are at final stage of planning and mitigation of our manufacturing risk by choosing the reliable game-printing company as our partner.
