Completed HOT album, but need it pressed, packaged, and released!
I wanted to reach out to you and let you know I am really close to finishing my first EP. This is a dream I have had for a long time and has kept me focused and grounded, even through life’s most problematic times and most bitter disappointments.
Last year, I had an opportunity to move to Nashville and take a once in a life time shot in the music industry. Regretfully, the opportunity was short-lived and over before it really began. I moved back home, got my job back, put a band together kept rehearsing, wrote new songs, booked new venues to perform, purchased my own website, designed my logo, and ventured out to get my music career up and running. Yes there were setbacks along the way, but the dream was always bigger than the setback. The most pressing set back was that I needed a project.
While living in Nashville I had interviewed a handful of producers to produce a 5 song EP for me. I decided on a producer and began to move forward with him. When things ended for me in Nashville, my hopes were dashed for a bit because all of my funding had been cancelled. However, I kept in touch with this producer and he cut me an amazing deal because he believed in me, my songs, and my talent. . He told me he would give me a fully produced 4 song EP for $6000. After much prayer and thought I put my head together and raised the money to record. In January of 2012 I went to Nashville for a week and began recording on my first professional recording ever. I was elated! Finally some of the songs that I had labored over would get a chance to be shared with the world.
The music is receiving its finishing touches and I want to be able to complete step one in achieving my dream and I can’t do it alone. I need financial support. Writing a support letter is never easy - it’s a humbling experience, but it’s also an opportunity to invest in another’s life, where you become a part of a dream and a bigger picture.
I am in need of several things to finish this project out. Mastering, CD Graphic Design, Packaging, Duplication, CD release party, T-shirts.
Here is a price point break out of each item.
Mastering - $600 - Mastering, a form of audio post-production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master); the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). Recently, the format choice includes using digital masters although analog masters, such as audio tapes, are still being used by the manufacturing industry and by a few engineers who have chosen to specialize in analog mastering. In addition, "music mastering" engineers may also need to apply corrective equalization and dynamic enhancement in order to improve upon sound translation on all playback systems
CD Design and duplication-$1,500 – The design work, packaging and duplication of the project and I tunes license and graphics.
$500 - T-shirt design and printing
Release party -$2,500 - After spending a great deal of time and money on its creation, you want to make sure the unveiling of your latest album is a hit. One way to generate attention and enthusiasm for your awesome new CD is to host a release party. This includes a venue which usually costs, hiring an opening act, paying for a sound tech, paying my band to close the event, promotional material, a few free give –a- ways (maybe t-shirts), inviting the press, marketing the event, etc. This drives CD sales and gets the artist out into the world and grabs the attention of fans and music label executives.
I know it is very bold for me to ask you for anything, but everyone has to start somewhere. Here are my plans and what I am hoping to accomplish with this EP.
I will be pitching to major films and television shows
It will be shopped to record labels and for a distribution deal
It will be pitched for other recording artists to record this material
It will be pitched for television commercials
It will be sold and distributed on my personal website,iTunes
It will get me booked to more professional venues
It will open doors for me to possibly be an opening act for a well known artist on a tour
CD’S will be sold at all my live shows
It will be promoted through various media sites
It will be handed out to different figures in the Dallas music press
