Funding Unsuccessful

This project's funding goal was not reached on November 27, 2012.

Immersive AAA-quality Indie FPS with RPG elements, tactical co-op & nonlinear gameplay set in a believable future.

Interviews, a Community Video, and a Teaser!

Hello folks!

As we're closing in on the 3,000th backer and the magic $100,000 mark, we're ramping up the team and press outreach in an effort to increase the momentum in this (expected) slow middle period of the campaign.

For those of you who have already backed us, we cannot thank you enough for your support!

But we still need your help!

Since the momentum has expectedly slowed, we have to keep encouraging you all to keep spreading the word about our project.

Judging by our Kickstarter stats we're not gaining enough traction in the social media, despite having a lot of followers on both Facebook and Twitter, so we kindly ask you to engage with us in our updates to help get the word out.

The more likes, retweets, comments and shares you make – the more people will be aware of our project! (comments and shares being the most important for visibility on Facebook.)

The other part is that a lot of the pledges so far have come from Kickstarter itself, which means we still have some work to do in the press department!

In the presses

So, after almost a week of trying to "punch through" to the big gaming websites, famous YouTubers and major magazine and TV stations, we've finally managed to be guaranteed features on at least 3 major gaming websites, which we're super excited for!

We've also given a bunch of interviews, both big and small, of which only a few have landed on the net so far:

We'll keep you posted on more news, as it arrives.

Team size increased by 150%!

On the 1st of November we had the pleasure of welcoming two new guys on the team, an Animator (Sam) and a Rigger (Mark). In addition to this our freelance concept artist, Jesper (soon to be Art Director?), have devoted much of his time to the remainder of this Kickstarter campaign.

These guys have now joined in unison and are working on something just a bit out of the ordinary. We can't wait to reveal it but until then, here's a small (albeit ugly) work-in-progress teaser screenshot:

Can you guess what it is about? Write your answer on our Facebook page. :)

Community video in the making

Exciting news on the community front! In an effort to increase the coverage of Interstellar Marines across the net, our beloved community are teaming up to make a viral community video, to increase the likelihood of success. What an awesome idea – we are deeply honored by your support!

Word is that they are still looking for help, so if you are up for this you can check out their forum thread and help this initiative to fruition.

That's all folks!

As we keep saying, thanks to all of you for believing in our ambitious project – it really means the world to us!

Now, don't forget to spread the word.

Kim & Mikael

I think Durchschlag may have a point. One of the things that really pulled me in was the teasers about the story. The more of the teases and bits you gave on the "picture of the weeks" and the like really are what made me go "Wow, this IS the game of my dreams. I get it!"

Summarized, I think you should create a quick video that teases the story (With bits of how gameplay will apply). Think a Game Design Document, in video form, but summarized and without giving away the bulk of the story. No spoilers. I'm loving the videos, but the potential pledgers need "The Hook"! The, "I'm going to be storming the beaches of an alien planet?! Really?!" Hook them ZPS!

It's looking a bit tight, isn't it, with 17 days to go? Here's hoping the 7th cavalry is mustering just over the hill. Regarding the comments on the interviews, I thought the TotalBiscuit one was rather good, both in terms of Kim explaining IM's history and the questions asked by the interviewer, which were right to the point: Relevance? Cost? Timeframe? In terms of Relevance, I think Kim missed a trick there. It's back to the same point I have nattered on about once before: what's the story? In this day and age, anyone can do the technical stuff (Caution: sweeping statement by someone who knows rather little about developing games ;-). But not everyone can do the story. In fact, very few can. There are dozens of FPSs out there, most of which try to sell themselves on pretty graphics and some neat tricks, but lack any real, innovative, grip me by the *bleep* story. And still we have not heard much about the IM story! It may not be THE key (though I think it is), but it sure-as-a-Dane-has-cool-coffee-pots might do something to shove the show down the remaining $505,500 of the road. Come on Kim and Mikael, put something out there that really will make people pile down cool, hard cash because what your story evokes is so damn, mind-blowingly, awesomely brilliant that we simply cannot wait to play IM! And to everyone else who reads this, has not pledged yet and it wondering, shall I, shan't I? As always in life, nothing ventured, nothing gained!

If people (like me) still support them even IF the kickstarter fails then I am sure they will be able to make it, it will just take a bit longer.

    5. Creator Agamer on November 9, 2012

If you don't reach the 600k will you still make the game?

    6. Creator Interstellar Marine on November 9, 2012

Totally agree! Let's spread it everywhere!

@ Interstellar Marine: Exactly. The Lord-Kat interview was great. The guy was really impressed by the whole IM idea and concept and that's what Total Biscuit didn't get - this is not a finished game, it's a dream that must come true and has a long way to go. But we believe and Lord-Kat sounded like he believes too and that made the interview 100% positive.

Nice update! I liked the LordKat-interview, thought it was great!

Good to see the ZPS team gaining new helping hand. Regarding the screenshot, it looks to me like a kind of fighting arena. WTF fighting arena? Going melee? That would be awesome.

I would suggest trying to get a hold of 'HuskyStarcraft' on Youtube. He has a ton of followers from the Starcraft community. He has a second YT channel where he goes beyond just playing Starcraft - ATM he's been playing through Half Life "Black Mesa" (Half Life made in HL2 engine) and Half Life 2.

      A Link to his channels:
