- GOAL ACIEVED! We will make KINJŪ in both stonewashed and polished finishes! You will be able to choose your blade finish or add replacement blades of your choice at the end of the campaign!
Last year, EDGE Mini sliced its way into history as the world’s smallest carbon fiber S35VN knife. Backers love their tiny keychain companion because EDGE Mini is always ready to assist with small items in a pinch. The biggest request from our backers? MAKE IT BIGGER!
Introducing EDGE KINJŪ Carbon Fiber Pocket Knife:
Featuring a super-sharp, 3-inch (76mm) VG10 steel blade, we continue our mission of delivering the best everyday carry essentials with a standard-sized pocket knife sporting the gold standard in Japanese stainless steel.
VG10 steel blades are known for their exceptionally sharp edge and ability to easily sharpen in the field. VG10’s premium wear/corrosion resistance keeps EDGE KINJŪ in peak fighting form for the long haul.
A reinforced carbon fiber handle is the perfect complement to one of the sharpest steel blades available. Inspired by our APEX pen design, geometric cut-outs peek at the interior steel housing, while a subtle gradient pattern adds a slight shimmer and depth to the handle. A lever lock ensures total control for a safe and comfortable grip.
Coming in at 3.56 ounces and 4 inches when closed, EDGE KINJŪ is destined to become your new favorite EDC pocket knife. With KINJŪ by your side, you’ll always stay a cut above the competition.
Since we debuted EDGE Mini on Kickstarter, we have become obsessed with knife steel. After reviewing your feedback, we agreed that most pocket knife enthusiasts prefer standard-sized knives as the most versatile for everyday carry, and began development of a larger version of EDGE.
We were determined to use the highest quality materials and technology to build a reliable tactical knife in our signature ZeroHour style. We are particularly impressed with the rigorous and precise production methods of Japanese cutlery makers, and traveled to Japan late last year to identify the perfect blade for EDGE KINJŪ.
EDGE KINJŪ achieves top-tier performance with a Japanese VG10 steel blade. VG10 is a high-carbon stainless steel created with 1% carbon, 1% molybednum, 15% chromium, 0.2% vanadium and 1.5% cobalt. The eclectic mix of metals gives VG10 steel its exceptional sharpness, edge retention, and sheer durability. EDGE KINJŪ offers the hardness of a carbon steel but the corrosion resistance of stainless.
The stainless steel handle is reinforced with a layer of twill-weaved carbon fiber. The twill weave produces the distinctive, textured gradient pattern unique to carbon fiber products. Extremely stiff, strong, and light, carbon fiber is used in many industries including aerospace, military structures, robotics, and sports equipment. KINJŪ's carbon fiber handle also feels cool and smooth in your hands.
The blade measures 76mm (3") in length and the knife is 178mm (7") long in the open position. Weighing 100 grams (3.56 ounces), KINJŪ is light and compact, yet large enough to handle a wider range of cutting tasks.
We’ve made two key design changes from EDGE Mini to support smoother deployment and easier maintenance. EDGE KINJŪ features a ball bearing pivot, which makes opening and closing the blade simple and effortless.
Adjust the pivot tightness to your comfort with T9 and T6 TORX screws, which sit flush and add a sleek look to the handle. There are no proprietary screws, meaning you can use standard TORX screwdrivers/wrenches to dissemble EDGE KINJŪ for cleaning, general maintenance, or blade replacement.
We’ve also included a paracord pull and removable stainless steel pocket clip!
Featuring a standard-size form factor, EDGE KINJŪ is ready to support your everyday and unexpected needs:
- Open packages
- Cut rope
- Cut zip-ties
- Strip wire
- Carve wood
- Start fires
- Tighten screws
- Remove staples
- Sharpen pencils

With EDGE KINJŪ, you'll be prepared for obstacles as simple as cutting zip ties or as tough as stopping an imminent threat. Effective, durable, and powerful, take KINJŪ wherever you go.

We designed KINJŪ to honor the sleek form of our tactical products while maintaining our high-quality standards. After confirming our vision for EDGE's body and blade dimensions, our team of engineers translated the sketches and drawings into concrete specifications via CAD:
Within CAD, we fine-tuned each KINJŪ component, which was next sent to our CNC team to make functional prototype parts. After our CNC team makes physical samples of the parts, they are then assembled, tested, and adjusted until we have a working prototype.
All of our campaign photos and video above use the working prototype. With your support, the final look and quality of EDGE will be retail-ready once mass production is complete.
We will offer add-on accessories including TORX screws, bearings, tools, lubrication, replacement blades, carbon fiber handles, and other ZeroHour products at special Kickstarter rates after the end of the campaign.
We also have stretch goals in development such as alternate blade finishes, but to meet minimum order quantities, we'll need lots of backer support!
Our team has produced several prior Kickstarter campaigns, and has successfully delivered a previous pocket knife project. Our new knife prototype can go into production quickly after our campaign ends. Your pledge shows us that you believe in our vision for innovative products, and in return, we pledge to deliver a high-quality reward to you.
