Skyrocket Your Productivity With Less Than Five Minutes Each Day
A powerful daily journal, which provides the structure for productivity, but also the space for creativity.
The Same System I’ve Used to Reach my Long-Term Goals.
You see, I’ve been there. I’ve felt the lack of progress towards my goals.
I’ve felt demotivated for long periods of time. I’ve felt stressed and anxious about work on evenings & weekends.
I’ve tried out productivity systems, only to become frustrated with the lack of flexibility. I’ve sat there at the end of the week, unfulfilled with what I had achieved.
I know the feeling. I’ve been there too.
Then I began Journaling.
This meant leaving my draining office job to set up my own 20,000 attendee festival. What’s more? I used this journal system to ensure I stayed on track whilst planning the festival during my travels through Latin America.
I was planning a long-term goal of mine (setting up a festival), while experiencing a long-term goal of mine (travelling Latin America). For this I was using a system which has now become the Zelo Journal.
I'm in the best shape I've ever been, mentally & physically. I'm spending as much time with friends and family as I’d like. My life is now guided by freedom and choice and I’m always working towards my long-term goals.
But it's not because of some complex system.
It's just a simple flexible journal, that I use every day.
I’ve kept a journal for around five years now, and it actually evolved from a simple to-do list (with a bit of goal setting on the side).
After a while, it became clear that those periods of my life that I kept a daily Journal were much more productive and memorable than those periods I didn’t.
Yep, like anyone else I have been through periods of time where I’ve fallen out of the habit of daily planning. It wasn’t until a friend asked me how I kept on top of everything that I had the idea to create a journal design to be published.
Knowing what a profound impact daily planning has, I thought the idea deserved further attention.
I’ve worked with some incredible people in my time and one thing is always clear. High performers are almost always well organised and great planners. I thought back to times that I have experimented with various productivity and mindfulness planners.
I thought of ways that I could improve the user experience and frustrations that I had.
The first was that I have always found that goal/productivity systems in journals are too rigid. While the systems are fantastic in their own right, they are not suitable for all lifestyles. This can leave you feeling unfulfilled and deflated.
After all, we're humans and we have our own ways of doing things.
Productivity does not fit the one-size-fits-all model.
I wanted to create a flexible system that empowers an individual based on their specific lifestyle. Often there is too much ‘fluff’ (features that people don’t use/not beneficial to their lifestyle).
I wanted to take all this out, place it in the user guide and give the user the option to use it if it suits their lifestyle. Lifestyle’s change and needs change. For example, my lifestyle now running a festival is very different to when I worked in insurance for one of the UK’s largest banks.
A Quality, Sleek, Understated Design.
My second frustration was that structured planners often had visual designs which weren't easy on the eye. Don’t get me wrong, I love a quote – but I like them in the right places. I wanted clean daily planning pages that are fit to get out in front of a client.
I was looking for a simple, subtle, quality finish to the journal.
So this left me returning to the blank notebooks implementing my own systems. I’ve been through enough low-quality notebooks to know quality is not something I wanted to compromise on.
A natural gap in the market appeared for a high quality, sleek, user-friendly, fluff-free, powerful daily journal. The result is a beautiful product, with a system which empowers any user to improve their life.
Since then, I’ve been tweaking the system. I've added techniques for different lifestyles based on the research of authors & academics
There’s too much information to list here to go into any sort of detail. However, these are all books I would recommend if you would like to improve the quality of your life. They’ve been all been highly influential in shaping the effectiveness of the Zelo Journal and the Zelo User Guide.
Not only this, but they’ve put great meaning into the project.
There’s too many to list for me to go into detail here, but if you’d like any further info just drop me an email at email@example.com .

Have You Experienced This?
A Lack of Progress Towards Your Long-Term Goals is Making You Feel Deflated
How long have you been working towards your long-term goals? How much progress have you made? A lingering long-term goal with little progress can leave us feeling deflated. The goal itself can often seem overwhelming.
Research shows that writing down your goals makes you 39% more likely to achieve them*. It goes further than this though. A goal is just a goal without a plan. And a plan is just a plan without action.
It just takes a wee nudge in the right direction each day for your goals to become a reality.
You Experience Stress & Anxiety About Work on Evenings & Weekends
How often do you find yourself thinking about work on evenings & weekends, when you should be enjoying time with your friends and family? I know I’ve done it far too much in the past.
We spend too much time filled with anxiety about the next working day. How good would it feel to clear your anxious thoughts each evening, using a quick, simple technique?
It’s a simple practice I’ve used, and I’m sure it will work for you too.
Inflexible Productivity Systems Leaving You Frustrated
Have you grown frustrated with inflexible wellbeing & productivity programmes? Me too.
The rigid systems stifle creativity and pay little attention to the individual needs of the user. As humans, we vary from person to person, so it doesn’t make sense to all follow a rigid productivity system.
What could you could achieve in the next year if you followed a system tailored to your individual needs and your individual lifestyle?
You Experience Periods of Low Motivation
I think we’ve all been there. Periods of lacking motivation mainly come from a lack of daily action towards something meaningful. This can cause us problems. A dip in motivation causes our productivity to fall off the tracks at work. It causes us to skip physical exercise or to meet up with friends and family.
The process then becomes self-fulfilling.
But what if you could avoid these dips?
You’ve Never Got Round to That Goal
What’s that one thing that’s been in the back of your mind for a while, but you’ve not got round to yet? Start a blog? A business? Take up swimming?
Whatever it is, it’s likely that will remain a thought in your head… an ambition. That is, unless you break the goal down and start taking daily steps towards it.
The goal may seem huge, but the only way you’re going to turn that into a reality is through daily progress.
The timing will never be right.
You Don’t Feel Fulfilled at The End of Each Week
When we spend the day on auto pilot, we’re completing tasks based on the requests or actions of others. A week grinding out the to-do list at work can leave us feeling unhappy or unfulfilled. But, working towards our own goals daily provides optimism and motivation.
This daily action soon becomes progress and it’s the progress towards our goals that give us a great sense of fulfilment.
1/ Adapt Your Productivity System to Your Lifestyle, and Not Follow a Single System Set by Others.
2/ Motivated People Are Reported to be 39% More Productive Than Unmotivated Individuals*. The Zelo Journal Uses a Process to Help You Feel Motivated Every Day.
3/ Turn Your Work-Related Stress Into a Productivity Tool With Just 5 Minutes Each Day.
4/ “I’ll Get Round to My Long-Term Goals One Day.” Wrong! – Unless you're making progress towards your goals consistently, it's likely that your long-term goal will remain an ambition. A thought.
5/ The Best-Looking Journal on the Market. Self-development can look and feel amazing too. Inspired by Italian Fashion, the sleek design has been crafted for a professional look. Fits well equally with casual clothes or sharp office attire.

The Three-Step System Ensuring You’re Always Working Towards Your Long-Term Goals
We reach real achievement through hundreds (or thousands) of smaller actions, repeated over a long period of time.
The three-step system ensures that your long-term goals, your weekly goals and your daily goals are all linked. No more ‘floating’ through the day. (hurrah!)
Clear Your Mind - Reduce Anxiety & Stress So That You Can Enjoy Relaxed Evenings and Weekends.
This Journal provides a structure so that you can leave your anxious thoughts on paper. After this, you come back to them better mentally prepared. What’s more? The system is designed not only so you can relax more on evenings and weekends.
It is arranged in such a way that you will be able to complete tasks more efficiently the next working day. This is achieved by engaging your subconscious mind (Read The New Psycho-Cybernetics by Dr Maxwell Maltz if you’d like to know more about this).
Why Not an App?
The aim is to move away from anything on the phone. We’re a generation addicted to technology and social media. How often do you find yourself scrolling through your phone aimlessly?
Time away from technology is now precious and valuable.
With a paper journal there is only you and your journal, your plans, your ambitions and your goals. On your phone there are hundreds of apps and thousands of people trying to get your attention. It’s not good for your mind and it’s less than optimal when you’re concentrating on your planning and reviews.
And let’s be honest. Nothing quite feels like pen to paper, and crossing off targets once you’ve reached them.
No More ‘Off-Days’
Building positive habits is critical to achieving your goals. The daily system helps you build these daily habits necessary to reach your goals. Looking at the inner pages, the Zelo Journal allows you to break down your long-term goals into daily opportunities of progress.
Looking at the cover, the Zelo Journal shows that Productivity, Daily Planning & Wellbeing can look sharp too. No more ‘off-days’ or feeling lost. The daily system ensures that you stay firmly in line for progress towards your goals every day.
Big Goals Are Achievable by Anyone
The Zelo Journal ensures that you can take any long-term goal and break it down into its components. It shows that you can look at any goal and achieve it. The aim is that you feel empowered to get the most out of every day.
A system tailored for you.
You’ll be free to set the example for all your peers and make progress like you never have before. Regardless of your goals, it’s within your power to achieve them. I’d like you to turn your dreams and visions into a reality. To impress and inspire all of those around you.
Anyone can reach their long-term goals with the Zelo Journal. I’ve shown how this has worked for me, for others, and it will work for you too. I’m so confident in the quality of the journal that you’ll receive a 100% refund if you’re not happy with it.
Here’s what you and I both know, one year from now you’re going to arrive. The question is where?
That is your decision to make right now.
Please pledge to support this project.
The Zelo Journal oozes class and you’ll be proud to get it out in at work or in your next client meeting. It has the following features:
6 Month Goal Setting Outlook
The six-month goal setting outlook provides a clear, long term reference when setting your weekly and daily targets.
Ensures that your weekly and daily action is always linked to your long-term goals. The target setting systems are based on ‘Flow’ and ‘Positive Psychology’ – Google them!
Six Undated Monthly Calendars & Planners
Meaning that you can write down any important dates or appointments. It can also be used to mark out ‘Milestone’ targets for your long-term goals. A great tool for visualisation.
Weekly Planning & Visualisation
Here we apply Positive Psychology. Probing questions ensure you’re always looking for opportunities and visualising activities.
Weekly Review Questions
To recognise progress and opportunity.
Weekly Focus & Fulfilment
A thought-provoking question brings your focus back to the one most important goal for the week. This helps you visualise the process of achieving the goal.
Daily planning and targets are open and flexible. This allows users to apply techniques from the Zelo user guide that most suit their lifestyle.
Time Bound Targets
“ Work expands to fill the time available for its completion” - Parkinson’s Law.
It’s often beneficial to schedule time limits on targets. However, most of us don’t know exactly how long a task will take. In fact, research shows we will routinely under-estimate how long a task will take. If you’ve scheduled/time blocked your full day, you could go over by an hour on one task, throwing your whole schedule off (causing stress).
Here’s how the Zelo Journal is the solution to this problem: We’ve included a space for time allocation on the daily pages of the journal for each individual target. This way, your tasks are still time-bound, however, if you run over or under on that time, the rest of your day remains flexible.
This is helpful in being productive, while remaining in a clear state of mind.
Free-form Notes Pages
Things come up, they always do. The free-form notes pages provides the flexibility to write or draw anything you need to.
16 Page Comprehensive User Guide
This is where the magic lies. The 16-page user guide provides you with the tools to create a productivity system tailored to you.
Habit Tracker & Book Mark
Habit tracking can be very effective for some people, while others prefer not to use it. Our solution for this has been to create a premium Habit Tracking book mark. Habit track at your free will! We also have a dedicated web page, so you can get the most you can out of it.
High Quality Eco-Friendly 100gsm (thick) inner pages
To prevent show-through & bleed. No-one enjoys show-through, bleed and ugly pages in journals, so we’ve opted for market leading premium 100gsm paper. Acid-free and eco-friendly friendly paper.
Cotton Lace Style Page-keeper
Keep track of your page with this subtle, lace style page-keeper.
Multi-compartmental binding to ensure your journal always lays flat.
Don’t you hate it when you put a book in your bag and pull it out and it’s bent?
Yep. We’re not letting that happen here.
High Quality Faux Leather
Free from animal products (We tested 5 Materials before settling on this one for look and durability).
Premium Black Trim Pouch
To store your important documents and business cards.
6 Calendar Months of Productivity
(26 weeks) 238 Pages.
Perfect to keep with you at all times.
Premium Gift Packaging
A premium journal with stunning packaging to match. A powerful gift to friends or family.
Listing Techniques According to Lifestyle
The Zelo Guide helps you list your tasks according to your lifestyle.
Expressing daily or weekly gratitude can be highly beneficial. The Zelo Journal provides space for you to express the techniques of Positive Psychology as you feel.
Listing Techniques According to Mindset
The Zelo Guide offers ways in which you can improve your productivity through your mindset.
We’ve included a couple of inspirational quotes (told you I love em’), but none on the daily pages that may be more visible. They’re limited and well placed in the journal so they look good in an office or client environment.
An integral part of effective goal setting is setting S.M.A.R.T goals. The Zelo guide helps you to be apply these to your long-term, daily and weekly targets.

Back this project and we’ll send a Zelo Journal out to you.
Who knows what you could achieve?
Risks and challenges
As with any project, this one carried its own risks and challenges. However, these are very minimal. With the design and approval process behind us, the risks lie purely in Manufacturing and Shipping.
Naturally setbacks can occur in manufacturing and shipping. However, I am confident that I will meet the timelines I have noted due to the extra buffer that I have added. All I ask for is a little patience if something does cause a set back – I’ll be sure to keep you updated.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
