The script is 100% complete, the concept artists have their tablets poised, ready to design a Sasquatch and the development producer is pumped to crunch some serious numbers... we just need your support to make it all possible!
The Sasquatch of Jackson Farm is the first feature film from Zealous Creative. It's about an orphaned Sasquatch named Dog who's raised in isolation by an overprotective farmer. When Dog discovers and falls for a female Sasquatch, he’s torn between two worlds.

What will the funds be used for?
Sasquatch Concept Development
Close to a third of the funds will be used for Artist concepts. Over 4-6 weeks, each artist will flesh out their version of what the Sasquatch of Jackson Farm will look like. This will takes some serious time and talent!
Another portion will be paid to the development producer for 4-6 weeks of work, creating a business plan. This will cover hot button topics such as:
- Understanding how much the costumes will cost
- What state/country is the best to film in, based on tax incentives
- What actors we have pegged for the lead roles
This document needs to be solid, to ensure we can attract further funding and demonstrate to potential investors how they'll see returns.
Administration & Rewards
The boring but necessary stuff. A small portion of the Kickstarer funds will be paid to the creators to manage the concept art process, fulfill the reward requirements (including book production, postage, etc) and Kickstarter fees.
Any monies over our pledge amount, will go towards the film's production.
Why don't we just go out and try to sell our script?
We're filmmakers, we write our own stories, we have a vision, we create worlds and we believe going down the Kickstarter path will allow us to have as much creative control as possible.
If we simply sell our script to a production company, they may not want us on their team. Or they may force rewrites and turn it into the Slasher of Jackson Farm... NOoOoOo.
We've intentionally written a smaller story. A few locations, a small cast and an estimated budget of around $1.3 million dollars. That's achievable!
Risks and challenges
OK, so let's say we achieve our Kickstarter goal, what's next?
It's always risky business developing a feature film and there's no guarantee this story will see the light of a projector. But your generous support will give us a real good fighting chance!
We're represented at William Morris Endeavor, the world's biggest talent and literary agency. Once we have our development package containing the script, Sasquatch art and business plan, WME will start the process of getting us in front of all the right people and attracting some serious talent to the project.
We'll also be approaching various contacts we've made over the years including film Venture Capitalists, Distributors, Government bodies and private investors.
The good news is, that well made low budget indie films do GREAT on VOD platforms (think YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime) and have a pretty good chance of making their money back.
In relation to delivering the Rewards, we've carefully selected these so the majority are delivered digitally, so we see no foreseeable delay with these.
The Backer Reward with the most involved fulfillment process is the 'Sasquatch Concept Art' printed book. For these, we'll use a reputable online book printing service (like blurb.com) and have them shipped directly from the printers to the recipients. The layout for these books will already have been completed for the eBook version, delivered much earlier on.
You read all the way to the end of this Kickstarter! We're flattered. We hope by now you are as excited as we are about bringing this idea to reality.
