All right Dead Unicornauts, it's time to get this end times party started. (New to Dead Unicorn? Read the concept.)
We finished recording our latest album, Pandemic. It's the third in our series of seven color-coded apocalyptic concept albums -- Code Yellow: Biological Disaster.
Now we're asking for your help to make Pandemic a reality. No, we're not asking you to infect anyone with a virus. Unless you were going to do that already.
We're asking you, our biggest fans, to help us raise the diabolical sum of $3,666 to take our best album ever to a level of awesomeness that will melt brains and rupture eardrums.
To raise the cash we need to make this happen, we'll be offering an assortment of limited-edition Dead Unicorn goodies to show our appreciation. And for the first time ever, you can pre-order Dead Unicorn on vinyl!
For $25 we'll ship you this beautiful yellow vinyl LP with original art by Dumb Won, along with a download code and a really cool poster.
We've also got the craziest liner notes you've ever seen. Back us at $10 or $50 and up, and you'll get a medical folder with your name on it. Inside, you'll find medical forms with lyrics handwritten by us, your apocalypse doctors. Each folder is numbered and signed by the band.
We wouldn't ask for your help without telling you exactly what we need it for. We will be using 100% of the proceeds from this Kickstarter campaign on the following:
- mixing & mastering with John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail, Shai Halud, The Number 12 Looks Like You) at Nada Studios
- pressing 200 limited edition Pandemic LPs on yellow vinyl
- hiring a seasoned heavy music PR professional to promote the record to key influencers to get the exposure we deserve
- producing and shipping the wonderful items you get in return for backing us
If we manage to beat our goal of $3,666, we'll be pouring every extra penny into additional PR, our music video budget, and other opportunities for exposure.
There are also a number of extremely exclusive items to be had, for example:
This album is without a doubt our best ever by leaps and bounds. You are just as much a part of this project as we are -- please support our Kickstarter.
If you've never done Kickstarter before, trust us, it's as easy as ordering a T-shirt online. Plus, we'll be giving you updates throughout the campaign and leaking you all sorts of exclusive sneak peeks on the album that we won't be sharing on Facebook. You'll be the first to hear teaser clips from the album, and we'll be sending you periodic messages to keep you updated on our progress.

We're counting on you for our survival. Don't delay -- back us on Kickstarter before it's too late. You can't take it with you when you go, so you might as well go out in style.
Risks and challenges
Because we are producing almost all of the backer package items, the only possible delay in the process would be an unexpected delay in the record pressing, which is always possibility. However, these delays rarely last more than 4-6 weeks, and for that reason we have built an extra 6 weeks into our production schedule. We have left more than ample time for everything else to happen and are quite confident of our ship date.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
