New Launch Dates

Hi Everyone,

I've just received our new launch dates from NASA. The primary launch date will be March 30th at 10:50 PM EDT. There is also a backup date of April 3rd at 9:40 PM EDT. Here is a revised sequence of events for our mission assuming the March 30th primary launch date:

  • Falcon 9 liftoff (10:50 PM)
  • Falcon stage separation (10:53 PM)
  • Falcon 2nd stage engine cutoff and Dragon Separation (10:59 PM)
  • KickSat deployment (11:53 PM)
  • KickSat radio beacon power-on (12:43 AM)
  • Sprite deployment (11:53 PM on April 15th)

If you're a Ham, we'd love to have you listening for KickSat's beacon. Check out our wiki page and Google Group for more information.

Lastly, just because it's cool, here's the official SpaceX mission badge for CRS-3. Notice the CubeSats coming out of the upper stage of the rocket on the left:

I can't find the mission badges anywhere either, doesn't look like they've been physically manifested by SpaceX, or at least not for sale. If anybody sees otherwise, do tell!

      Hi Jay,
Unfortunately I don't have any physical SpaceX mission badges - just the picture.

      Zach,

Is it possible to get a mission badge?

      Hi Rick,
10:50 PM EDT (local time for KSC) = 02:50 UTC. I don't have launch time to the second. I just got this info a couple of hours ago from KSC.

I have 0251 UTC as the launch time. When were you given the time you listed? Also, do you have liftoff time to the second, or not yet (it's unlikely to be at :00 seconds).
