About this project
Have you ever wondered where your items are?
People have trouble finding their things all the time. An average person spends nearly 10 minutes before leaving their home looking for keys, wallets, or handbags. This can make people late for interviews, meetings, even dates.
We get it, and that’s why we solved it. With iFind.
iFind is the next generation item locating tag. The tag communicates with your iOS or Android devices using Bluetooth and will never need to be charged. The iFind tag can be attached to all of your personal items , and you only need your phone to find them. Tag any item that you want, and it’s at your fingertips.
Unlike other locating tags, there is no battery in the iFind tag. It recycles electromagnetic energy and stores it in a unique power bank. This exciting feature frees you from the trouble of charging batteries or replacing them through the manufacturer.
The battery-free design also makes the iFind tag thin and light. At 1.25"x1.06"x0.09" (32 x 27 x 2.4mm), it can be slipped into or attached to just about anything. With its 200ft (60m) detection range and loud alarm, iFind will never let you down.
The iFind tag is ready to use in just two steps. First, place your iOS or Android device next to an iFind tag and open the iFind App for automatic pairing. Next, attach the iFind tag to anything you want to track. You can also assign a unique ID to each tag and pass it to anyone who may then locate that tag for you.
What if you cannot find your phone? That’s easy with iFind: you can locate your phone by shaking any of your iFind tags — No more frustration.
After having dinner with your friends you get a notification on your phone. The iFind app tells you that your keys have gone out of range; they had fallen out of your pocket when you were in the restaurant. Without this Rope function, you would have gotten all of the way home before noticing that they were missing.
Have you ever been desperately looking for your wallet in a large building or party? Even with iFind's impressive 200ft range and loud beep, it could still take hours to find it by yourself. Thankfully, the iFind App has the UHelp function to let you team up with friends. Share your wallet’s tag ID, and your friends can use their own phones to quickly find your wallet.
The iFind tag is environmentally friendly as it uses no batteries and is made of a biocompatible plastic. You, your pets and your surroundings are completely safe with iFind tags.
Our team spent almost three years in the research and over a year in development of iFind including design and market analysis. We are proud to produce this state of art device that is unique and customer friendly. More importantly, we want you to join us!

Risks and challenges
The main risks are our reliance on outside sources within the supply chain. The contractor for the manufacturing of the flex circuit has to order components from other vendors. If one of these vendors slips in a commitment, the complete production process is at risk unless we can afford to purchase residual inventory.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The tag comes with a lifetime warranty, provided it is not used in adverse conditions
To begin with, iFind tag doesn’t have a battery. Instead, it uses our patent pending EM Harvesting technology and stores the energy in a uniquely designed power bank. In other words, iFind tag powers itself. In the worst case scenario, let’s say you lost your tag in the middle of a remote desert, where there’s no EM wave at all, the tag will still hold power for days.
For more information about our EM Harvesting technology, please check our coming update on Kickstarter or go to our official blog (coming soon)
What is the range on the tag when using an iPhone 5 in open line of sight? How about in a house with a bunch of walls and furniture?
The tag has been tested to have a line-of-sight range of 200ft (60m). We have tested different scenarios where there has been "congestion", and the range did drop off. In the worst case where it was room to room with metal cross members, such as power conduits, the effective range was 45ft (14m).
Yes the device is hermetically sealed and therefore resistant to water spills. However, it is not yet tested to be waterproof at any specific underwater depths.
There is no GPS in this release phase, but there is the UHelp function that basically extends the range to a pseudo GPS. Also, if we hit our $500,000 stretch goal, we will add the "Last Seen GPS Location" function that remembers the last-seen location of each of your tags. It will be really handy when you can't remember where you last saw a particular tag.
Yes, this is the UHelp function. UHelp allows the tag owner to share the encrypted tag ID with other people to join the “search team”, effectively increasing the search range.
The Uhelp function will allow you to share the unique ID of a specific tag with your friends, who have iFind app installed, via SMS or social network. Given the ID, your friends’ mobile phones are granted with permission to pair the tag, too. Note your friends need to be willing to ‘help’, that means, they need to actively look for the tag. We do not let the APP search for tags in background without notifying the users due to both battery life and privacy concerns. After the tag is found by you or your friend, we urge you to change a new ID for it with your APP.
The Rope function allows the tag owner to set a distance for each individual tag and once the tag is out of this range, both the tag and the phone will alert the owner.
Absolutely! There are two ways. First, you can shake the tag to find your phone. To make it even better, you can use the Rope function so that every time you are away from the phone, you will be notified.
Currently the tag works with iOS devices with Bluetooth 4.0 (iPhone 4S and later, iPad 3rd generation and later) and Android devices with Bluetooth 4.0 support. We plan to launch the Windows application later.
You can add as many tags to your phone as you want and you can track up to eight at the same time.
Yes, the iFind App does have a visual locating display showing the estimated direction and distance.
I really like this Shake-To-Find-My-Phone function, but what if I put one on my dog? Am I getting false alerts all the time?
You don't have to worry about this. There's a small accelerometer in each iFind tag, which will be able to differentiate.
You don’t really need to worry about this. In everyday environment, the Wi-Fi transmitters, cell-phone antennas, TV masts, and so on will keep it charged, so it will never die. And Yes, you can check the charging level in the iFind App.
Absolutely! Each tag has a unique encrypted ID. You can add this ID to mutiple devices and then use these devices to locate the tag.
Q: If being attached to a dog then the tag will be shaking all the time, so will my phone beep all the time too? Can I turn this function off?
A: Tag has to be shaken in a certain pattern to trigger your phone. Plus, you can always turn this function off.
Q: If my cat is at home and I go outside partying, the tag will be out of range, would the phone notify me then because of the Rope function? Can I turn this function off?
A: Yes, you can turn the Rope function on or off for each individual tag.
Absolutely. Currently we are offering twin-pack, 5-pack and 10-pack for you to choose from. Also, you can calculate the price accordingly and pledge. We will be able to track your order at our end.
Don't worry about it. At the end of the campaign we will send out surveys to our backers. You can then specify your choice of colors there.
I've already backed as an early bird. Now that all the early bird rewards are gone, is there any chance that I can pledge for a few more at early bird price?
Our apologies, but early birds' rewards are all gone. However, you can choose our 5-pack or 10-pack instead, where the price for each individual tag is even lower than the early bird ones.
Our apologies. At the moment we can’t offer free international shipping since we are a US based company and we have to pay both shipping fee and the export taxes to other countries outside of the continental USA.
We are not releasing API at the moment but we do have a plan of releasing in the future.
