      Drew just now

Alex I hope to have Lossless audio as an option as well. If they have to do PCM, I'll take the HDD cost.

It's coming together nicely. You can tell this will be fully modern game and the technology we have today shows in this video. Looking forward to hearing what Corey sounds like as Ryo. Thank you for showing us this. Don't show too much though!

    3. Alex Hawke about 7 hours ago

The requirement for HDD space is rather odd. I do hope that this will be changed to something more reasonable, like 20GB for the base game and optional 4K textures/Japanese VA/uncompressed pre-rendered cut-scenes/whatever DLC.

@Shepard well said bro, i'm with you on this one too

I think the game needs better facial animations (the first animation where we see Ryo's mouth feels very strange) and a bit more work on the characters as they feel very cartoonish indeed. Also, even though it might be too late to change Shenhua's face, I just wanted to say that she really looked chinese back in Shenmue I and II and now she looks a lot more european and I think it's a pity but it's no big deal.
But overall I'm happy because I feel the project is going the right way. :)

Also, PLEASE take all the time you need to make the game as good as the previous games. I know it might not be possible but don't listen to the people who want to play NOW. RELEASE the game WHEN it's READY please. I don't care if it takes 1 year or 10 years, it just needs to be AS GOOD AS it CAN BE ! Please Yu Suzuki.

      One Love.

I believe Shenmue holds a special place in every fan's heart, especially to me. I sincerely thank Yu (my first name is called Yu 玙 as well :)), and all the backers to make this happen!

The stilted animation and goofy voice work was always a charm of Shenmue.. So I could care less about that.
As long as it has a satisfying ending to the story and the fight mechanics are at least on par with the last two, then everything else is just gravy.

Well do guys! Thanks for all the hard work the team has put in. My faith is restored. Keep up the great work :) Very exciting to see it looking this good.

Wow. Brings tears to my eyes. Huge improvements since last time. You’re on the right track! Lan Di looks great! Keep pushing to refine Ryo and Shenhua to that same standard and you have a masterpiece!!!

Clearly you hear a visible improvement.
I believe that over time, until the launch of the game, we will have a satisfactory job.
It will not be a Triple A game, but with this last trailer, it gave me a little relief to know that we are having evolution in the animations and the art of the game.
As a fan of the series, I always strive for the best.

Buff....No gameplay at all. Are you that scared of the negative feedback?
I know at the end, the game is going to be what it´s going to be, given the circumstances, we cannot ask for much more Happy enough to finally have it and being able to play it. But I do not get people saying, "it looks amazing", "it is going to be great"... - "There are none so blind as those who will not see"

Love the environments, music, fighting scene, Ryo, Shenhua and Lan Di. But secondary characters, like the old master or the guy opening the door don´t seem to be balanced with Ryo and company. They look like cartoonish. It´s weird.

Yu Suzuki said he would work on the facial animation until end of development. Until release there is no point in judging facial animations it will continue to improve. Personally I think the drastic improvement from each trailer is reason enough to get excited for the complete version!

art style feels a good bit different vs the original 2 , those felt more realistic vs the action figure or clay like feel? these seem to have. that said i'll just be happy for more of the story after so long.

Great clip! Don't listen to haters. You can't ever satisfy everyone. The average gamer had become very demanding and I am personally surprised that people on KS would demand a triple AAA production quality. With such a little budget this game can be an indie project at best. So stay the course and finish the game based on YOUR own projected anticipations. Don't start fixing something that would lead to major delays and a lot of additional investment. That never ends well. Release what you can/hope/plan and then, if there is any additional budget. work on something better. It's been quite a few KS projects that flopped only because developers hoped to pull a magic rabbit out of a hat, and often realized that there is no rabbit to pull, no money left and the game is not finished. So finish the game with your projected costs and anticipations, deliver on your promises and ignore the hating. There will always be some, who will demand more than a small indie studio can pull off. You promised the continuation of the series, you didn't promise AAA production quality, so do what you can, the rest will sort out itself.

I think you guys are doing a fantastic job. Yes, a few of the animations where the "veiny hand" is twisting awkwardly could be fixed but people need to understand that the game is not yet complete. Also, don't listen to the haters out there... this game will be a hit. The look of the characters are all fine. They may be cartoon-like but it adds a bit of interesting flavor to the game since every other title is aiming for a dead realistic approach with their characters. Keep up the great work!!

I've been a big fan of the series for a long time, and I cried literally when Yu-san announced the third part. But I have to say that I agree with the comments about the animation, mostly the facial animation, It looks stiff, and i'm a bit worried with this trailer that this game ends up to be the same than the 4th disc on Shenmue 2... I'd like to see more about the story, the long awaited encounter between Ryo and Lan Di !, the music is great and I like the graphic style, It is Shenmue to the bone of course, but to this point (If It is still going to go out on August) I am more worried than excited. I wouldn't mind it to delay a bit more If it helps to get a better quality in terms of animation which is my main concern. Keep going with the hard work ! This is just a respectfull feedback for you guys as a HUGE fan of Shenmue :)

Looks great to me! Animations can be touched up a bit, but honestly, its a very minor gripe and not a factor for me personally. Some of the comments are very harsh, and I do not understand why. You guys are doing great!

If it plays as well, or better than the previous two instalments then we're certainly in for a treat.
I'm just slightly concerned about the quality and design of the characters:
Shenhua and Ryo seem to be rendered in a realistic style, whilst the other NPCs seem to be done in a very cartoon like manner - I find it odd and jarring.
I still don't like Ryo's facial dimensions; there's something of the 'uncanny valley' about him, plus, his insanely veiny hand twists horribly when it's brought to his chin. I'm sure others noticed this too.
I'm not overly worried, but I hope these relatively minor issues are addressed before release.
Please keep up the hard work. Thank you!

Please have more realistic character models, in terms of faces and proportions. Even characters in Shenmue 1 and 2 such as Tom, Big Z, Don Niu, Chai all looked realistic where as some of the characters in this trailer are abit too cartoony with their faces similar to pixar characters. That is the only criticism I have, please try and aim for a yakuza game style graphics in terms of player models

    31. Alex Like 6 days ago

@Kuma: Of course it’s ok to share and promote it. That’s what trailers are for. The more people know about Shenmue 3, the better.

    32. Nadim Alam 6 days ago

Wow that was amazing, such memories it tok me back to. I can see that you have tried to keep the look and graphics style similar to the originals and it works great! I really like the graphics!!

Please tell me that there will be an option for English dubbed voices aswell just like the original? Or are you doing japnease audio only? I really hope not as I hate reading subs with jap voices. It’s the only reason I hate the yakuza games, otherwise love those games too.

    33. Kuma Unique Baity 6 days ago

I just have a question? is it okay I share and promote the trailer or is this just for us only? Looking forward to the release.

    34. Double Reppuken 6 days ago

The Kickstarter has been poor. And it seems this game will not conclude the Shenmue story. That could be problematic. It is going to come out at the tail end of a console generation making a next generation instalment difficult. But, this does look like Shenmue. So no worries there.

    35. Fei Wong 6 days ago

People are so harsh. Shahua looks perfectly fine to me. I can feel her sadness when Ryo talking about his father is murdered. So happy to get a sequel with a continued feeling from previous versions. I wish Street of Rage 4 didn't use the current cartoon style......

I have to be honest. This is looking like it will be a huge disappointment.

Please delay this game for as long as it takes to get this game up to the standard the loyal fans deserve.

At the moment truth be told it looks a mess.

I backed for $300 and I am starting to regret doing so.

Having also backed Bloodstained and seeing the progress and informative updates along with demos maybe you should have taken notes.

I honestly think this kickstarter has been poor in comparison.

I think this was about the right amount of detail shown off for a trailer this long before release, especially for a huge-scale Kickstarter which will always have critical backers.

The environments and camerawork are looking lovely. Characters' movements are occasionally a bit stiff, but this is Shenmue and they always were. I guess if they became amazingly realistic it could only be thought of as an improvement but if they remained like this it could still be thought of as part of the series' charm.

The facial expressions look incomplete. In some places they look great. The shot of Shenhua at 1:17 for instance. That shot of Lan Di with an expression and perhaps improvements to the modelling of his face was very needed after his reveal in a previous trailer. But in several other shots it seems like only Ryo's eyes move, with everything else frozen. Again, hopefully this is subject to polishing with only 5 months to go now.

Overall, looking very good. Some glimpses of story elements but not enough to spoil anything. Still really looking forward to playing this.

J'adore!! le Trailer est vraiment dans l'esprit de Shenmue avec la petite musique au top. Les voix en Japonais sont superbes, les personnages ont bonne mine. C'est la vidéo qui met l'eau à la bouche!

Looks awesome all around, the camera work during this cutscenes, the voice acting, character designs everything looks right.
I only wished we could see how's is going to look when we are exploring the world to see if the camera and animation look and feel like the originals too, because I love the camera of the previous games.

    41. Aaron Healy 7 days ago

I can’t see how some people can still be pessimistic about this, I mean going by this trailer (which we don’t even know if it’s current build, might be like a couple or few months old) the game looks amazing and it’s not even finished product. People are over thinking this way to much...... just wait and see what comes closer to August. Personally I think we’re going to be pleasantly surprised once we get to release.

    48. ic_UK 7 days ago

I really like the art style, it's very pleasing on the eye. Ryo looks great! Yeah he looks a bit stiff in some scenes, but I'm 100% confident that will be resolved towards the end of development.

The character models suit the backgrounds perfectly. All the little things going on in the backgrounds is a nice touch and really help to bring the environments to life. I'm glad this game didn't go down the hyper realistic graphics path.

I hope to see the battle system in action soon, this is the aspect I'm a little worried about if I'm being honest. I'd prefer a game with a fast and fluid core fighting system like Virtua Fighter with a bit of SpikeOut FE mixed in rather than a slightly slower paced game such as Yakuza. But I understand that's not to everyones taste as many people don't seem to like difficult games these days!

Please continue with your hard work and do your best!
