Hello Everyone,

Following last year’s participation in the Monaco Anime Game International Conferences (MAGIC), Director Yu Suzuki will once again be attending this year’s event in Monaco held Saturday, March 9th!

The press conference for the event took place February 7th as many of you may have already seen, but for those of you who haven’t, please read on!

MAGIC is presented by Shibuya Productions and their CEO, Cédric Biscay, a co-producer of Shenmue III. The event which is five years running hosts “conferences and round tables with famous international authors, game designers, producers, writers and illustrators”, as well as gaming, manga and cosplay contests.

As this is MAGIC’s 5th Year Anniversary, there are a variety of events planned for the occasion. And of course the latest Shenmue III news will be unveiled! A special MAGIC ✕ Shenmue III T-shirt will be available for the event, so be sure to follow along at the official MAGIC site and Twitter for more information.

What i think for now magic Monaco March 8 2019. Reveal new placeholder trailer with Ryo's still missing face animations, few new pictures and quikie flyby videos overlands scape (no any gameplay) and Backers demo release day.

Ryo and Shenhua are looking nice in that still!

Looking forward to the news. I'm on the fence about wanting in-game footage just yet since we're still over 7 months away from release day (if there aren't any delays) and I've seen plenty of Kickstarters make the mistake of hyping the game too early which leads to fans setting themselves up for disappointment. Maybe some detail about the scale of the world or the volume and variety of NPCs would pad out any reveals so the more exciting information can be withheld for just a little longer.

That said, a strange part of this update did give us all some pleasing information:

"Additional Info: Requires Steam Client to activate."

Given that Deep Silver just caused a lot of controversy by switching Metro Exodus from Steam to the Epic Launcher in the run-up to its release, it's reassuring to see that Shenmue III has since publicly stated it'll be launching on Steam still.

And if this hasn't been decided yet, I must emplore all staff at YsNet to confer about this with Deep Silver. The Epic Launcher remains deeply unpopular with a majority of PC gamers - among which there are likely to be thosands of backers who would have expected either a Steam or standalone installation - so it would not be a wise choice for Shenmue III to become an Epic exclusive.

Lovely to see some new screenshots, thank you!

It's nice to see Shenhua's seaweed hair from the august trailer has changed into something much prettier now for that (fmv quality looking) screenshot with her and Ryo. I hope that her in-game model will actually look something like this instead of what we saw in-engine in the august trailer. Will just be nice to see the gameplay video from MAGIC. Really looking forward to that next month and hoping you show off some great stuff. God speed YS Net.

Huge news! The Gameplay Trailer will be groundbreaking!! Time to make magic at MAGIC!!!

Can't wait to see that epic stone jumping across the river QTE you've been showing us for 20 years now.. it's gonna be epic 😂

Ryo looks cool. I've always believed in this project. The original Shenmue budgets were astronomical compared to Shenmue III's. I can understand why a lot of people have lost faith after so much time, so for all our sake I hope you can produce something big in the next month.

A lot of the complaints I see are a bit flimsy though. So what if the game looks a little outdated when it comes out? Most of us have played Shenmue I and II HD. They're old games, but to us they still look great, as will Shenmue III.

100GB of size? Good thing I got that large 4TB drive and a good internet connection. Will be interesting when we finally see stuff.

Only three weeks away from a new trailer containing gameplay, and OF COURSE the peanut gallery are complaining because the KS staff are trying to make it more widely known that Yu will be at MAGIC.

Have a sense of perspective guys, please.

Shows us some decent and real gameplay! Years and years of screenshots and short animated cut-scenes, updates with new marketing schemes to give extra money (suspicious at least), useless interviews, and we continue with a 'hand full of nothing'.
You must have all figure it out, the fans are basically good people but naive to believe in this project. In the last years many kickstarter projects/companies are taking advantage of their weakness...

Same thing, different day. I can't even tell you how much I'm looking forward to seeing gameplay in March though. Ryo and Shenhua's models look fantastic too.

An update is better no update though so it's the thought that counts. So excited to see the final version of the game in just over 3 weeks.

    14. Octavio Jesus Arredondo Orihuela on

Again... Only updates and more updates, the game maybe launch in 3020 really....New consoles coming and pcs are grown up every day, the game must have minimun 2k at 30fps whit hdr...

Another Hi and bye update? 😴 March IS better to Be good one.

Another useless update. Will we get some gameplay or are we running around since 2015.march will be your last chance
