Hello Everyone!

Today we would like to share details about Shenmue III at gamescom 2017 which will be held at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany this August. Yu Suzuki himself will of course be there to give the latest news about Shenmue III's development!

 Shenmue III at gamescom 2017

The business area

We will be participating in the business area. The area is limited to media and other business members of the game industry. Unfortunately, general admittance visitors cannot enter this area. For the latest on-site info, we please ask you to check the various media outlets.

The entertainment area

This area is open to the public. We have no events planned for this venue at the moment, but we are communicating with the organizers to see if we can do something with the fans in this area. Should we have an event in the entertainment area, we will notify you with the details as soon as possible.

*Further details for gamescom 2017 can be found on their official website

Thank you as always for your continued support!

Hi, I will have access to the business area of GamesCom 2017 and could certainly drop by there to check things out. I am very sure though they will do their best to make the fans happy and you don't have to worry that they will show anything special in the business area that you won't be able to see at the entertainment booth.

I will be looking forward to this event either way and I am sure this game is going to be great once it's done. It's going to be a big game, so just give it time guys. :)

I'm fairly certain anything shown to business bods will also be shown to backers. Don't understand some of the reactions.

    3. Angelo Joseph on July 14

I'd be concerned if they weren't attending at all. Give it time people.

      @Mas
      True.

But I think what most of us backers are "concerned" about is that why the progress of a project they helped made possible not made known to them first but shown to people who aren't interested in the project enough in the first place to make it happen.

I guess it's like spending time and effort to woo a woman, making her realize that she's desirable and then have her running off with a sleazebag instead of getting hitched with you.

Calm down people... seriously what's the point of showing frustration now we all have a date when we will watch the overall progress made. Maybe more? Perhaps some privileged people will have a chance to play some tiny demo?

I know communication has always been a real pain during all this Shenmue 3 project, but let's face it the next month : if what we see is appealing to our eyes, can we finally trust the project?

Come on creators! Show your best, it's your call now!

I don't know what everyone's concerned about. They'll be showing the game to the media. It will be leaked all over the internet moments later...

You'd like to share details about Shenmue 3 at Gamescom. Okay, let's hear it.

You'll be in the business area, which the general public can't enter. That's useful. To find out what's actually happening in there, we have to go look elsewhere.

Gamescom has a public entertainment area, but you don't have anything planned for that. Fantastic.

What was the point of this?

    11. Adam on July 13

Okay, I've seem to misunderstood here. They want to do something with the fans in the entertainment area, I read it wrong sorry. However, I'm sure whatever Shenmue III will be shown through media outlets will be good.

    12. Andrew Letson on July 13

I love that They always release an update right after we record a new episode of the Shenmue AM2 Podcast....

YAY! Another Pseudo update that tells us nothing lol

    15. Adam on July 13

Even if that doesn't happen, everyone will get to see Shenmue III in one way or another.

    16. Adam on July 13

We appreciate you trying to be in the entertainment area to show us the things you are showing so that the public can see!

    17. Char Lli on July 13

Whaw! Waiting for updates guys, I already have my shirt ready for when you can try the game: D

YSnet won't have a public booth, but it won't be a private showing.

I just think this message is down to poor communication via Kickstarter. The previous message had clearly alluded to having things to present to backers. Just to be clear to all involved, we appreciate the importance of presenting to business members of the gaming industry but, as backers, we expect a decent proportion of what is presented to be available for us to see as well.

Reading comprehension skills in these first few comments is terrible.

It's not a private showing, they're just not running a booth on the public days.

    25. KosiKosa on July 13

Are you guys actually reading the update?
They say they are trying to set-up something for the fans in the entertainment area.
