Please can we stop with the putting your name and face in the game world rewards. Let's not forget we're talking about a rural village in 80's communist China. One of the main reasons Shenmue was so memorable was because it felt authentic and lived-in.

I feel like the stretch goals should be in the game regardless if you get the funds or not.
Knowing the ideas for a great game exists but did not get implemented before release would be a great dissapointment to me. And I don't understand why we can't keep pledging during game development?

Quoted for absolute truth. We hardly know anything about "Shenmue III" at this point besides the names of three towns and that there will be fighting of sorts. Also, QTEs (probably), mini games (definitely) and jumping (apparently). That's not a lot to go on.
I'm constantly torn between raising and lowering my pledge. On the one hand, there's Yu Suzuki, who has been a legendary designer for 20 years. In my opinion, nobody can touch him when it comes to arcade games, and the first Shenmue game was seminal. On the other hand, Ys Net as a development company has little to show for itself, and these updates make me fear that I'm going to bump into messages or miniature images of "DragonKing108" and "fizztofdeth" every 20 steps. There are never answers to any of our questions, and all those update videos were shot more than 3 months ago.
Oh, and I agree with Ealynn, that reward description definitely needs a correction or two.

Personally, I'd like to see a few all-digital tiers above the $29 level, for those that don't want to see money going to shipping. Something like "$40 - digital download of game and soundtrack and/or short 'making of' digital video download" or $55 - digital download of game, soundtrack, and in-game phone card item (but no physical copy of game). I strongly suspect that there are supporters in remote areas where physical rewards are impractical, that could still be interested in increasing their pledges with the proper digital-only enticements.

For once I want an update that goes in depth with the game design and everything...
Usual campaigns have more updates about the game than the reward tiers, you know...
Potential backers are probably turned away because they don't know anything about how the game is going to play , or even look like.
Counting on the existing community to back a game is all well and good, but we can't grow the community if we have nothing to show that the game is going to be the most awesome game of all time ;-)
I know in my heart that it will be, but everyone around me doesn't even know the name nor how it plays. And most people I know are game developers that would fund this terrific game if they have a reason to.
Remember the hype around Double Fine Adventure ?!?

I'd really like to see more physical rewards, especially at the higher tiers. I think we'd see a huge uptick in pledges if people could get real, tangible items at the lower tiers, too.
Digital content is cool, but it's hard to justify spending hundreds—if not thousands—of dollars on it.
For instance, I'm currently pledging at the $300 level. If I go up to $500, I get... three capsule figurines? That just doesn't sound like it's worth an additional $200. I don't know how much these physical items cost to produce, but I bet you could work in some stuff. For instance, make a $100 tier that includes physical copies of both the PC and PS4 version or something.
Maybe make a "standard" edition of the physical copies too. Stuff like that. And for goodness sake reduce the price on the replica jacket! Tons of people would likely want that if it weren't so expensive.

Great rewards, but no more higher tier rewards after this please. They are cannibalising the other higher tiers and pushing us backwards not forwards. PLEASE focus on getting the campaign into the media. We need new backers instead of just squeezing the last drops of money out of the old ones.
