Hello Everyone!!!

It has been a long 14 years that fans have been waiting for a Shenmue sequel, but in that time a vibrant community grew—creating, sharing and keeping the faith. Because you have been there even after all of this time, we have the opportunity to be here today. And for that we cannot thank you enough.

Today we introduce some of the members that have made the Shenmue community what is today—totally kick-ass. See what being a Shenmue fan is all about!

We have Team Yu to thank for starting the #SaveShenmue movement

@JohnnyQuan Artist & Shenmue fan Johnny Quan made these super outstanding banners, so please share!

Next we would like to introduce our special guest for today. Many of you may know him from all his work as an Admin at Shenmue 500k, a Special Coordinator at TeamYu, a Veteran Contributor at Shenmue Dojo, as Ikkyu or as Ali. Where ever you know him from, Ali Novin has been a pillar of the Shenmue community since the very beginning, helping to bring Shenmue fans together into a united movement.

For his meritorious works and actions above and beyond the call of duty, Yu Suzuki has bestowed Novin-san with the title of Executive Shenmue Ambassador. Give Ali a big thanks as he shares what Shenmue means to him:

I want to give a big shutout to all of them, sorry if I can't name all to keep it short, but Shenmue Dojo, 500K and Team Yu plus Shenmue Master and the Japanese community over MIXI, and let's not forget Shenmue-UK and Hazuki Dojo and Shenmue Japanese BBS who have been able to somehow survive all these years waiting for this day (Thanks to Kiyuu-san from Dojo for the tip about MIXI).

We believe in Yu Suzuki and that he can deliver the best experience once again. Please make sure to share the word about this Kickstarter, anywhere and anyway you can using your love, creativity and respect for the series and help make Suzuki-san's full vision to become a reality.

      Hello everyone!

Ali is here, LOVE YOU ALL!, without you this amazing community and Shenmue could not exist let alone servers like me. One night, when I was saying good bye to Suzuki-san, he told me without you all (the community) Shenmue couldn't exist. He was really grateful for this and full of emotions (up to the part I even saw tears in his happy eyes)

Thank you so much as always and we will continue to appreciate and value everyone's love and support. Please let's continue to the best of our ability by always watching out for each because we live on the same earth and under the same sky, our lives always affects each other.

There is now not much time left to the end of #Shenmue3 Kickstarter.
      Let's #SaveShenmue once and for all: http://bit.ly/saveshenmue
(*Please continue keep sharing the love*)

Once again, thank you so much to all of you, Suzuki-san and grand master, everyone for the chance. I hope we deserve to be good saviors of Shenmue all together next to YOU.

If you stand by your statement that Shenmue is For and by the Fans Please allow us to vote on DLC being exclusive content!!! I do not believe I am alone in my stance that every one should have access to a complete Shenmue experience!

Pretty unfortunate typo there lol 'shutout' instead of 'shoutout'.
Especially when you're an ambassador you don't want to use that word XD

Adam Koralik is one of YouTube's greatest authorities on the Dreamcast. He should have got a mention. Shenmue is his favourite game but his channel is so wide ranging from technical information to general pick ups. I prefer this to channels which just stick to limited constraints.

Thank you, I'm extremely honored and humbled to have my fan art featured! It's been a long wait for this game and cannot wait to see it happen! <3

I'm so proud of all the work everyone has done for us to get this far. 14 years! With campaigns we organised to send to Sega (toy capsule campaign etc.) or the time we arranged to send some flowers to Corey and his wife when they got married!

Last year, I begun work on shenmuedb.com as a way of doing something for Shenmue. A way to scratch an itch, still working on it. It's been a boost to work on it now that Shenmue 3 has been announced!

@Lungkisser The Shenmue community did all come together to make this happen, but there were a few people who went to lengths to make sure the community was an actual community. A bunch of people wanting a sequel to Shenmue II doesn't make a community. People have funded websites for over a decade. There are people who had more influence in holding the community together for so long than others. Not every Shenmue fan operated these websites. Just having the fans don't keep the websites alive, the fans have to be given a reason to continue to care, and the administrators of the Shenmue communities are a big reason those tweetathons even existed. It's not like Shenmue fans are some hive mind who miraculously decided at the same time to take to social media every 3rd of every month. Be respectful.

The Shenmue community is great and has played a large role in the success of this of this KickStarter! It was awesome of Awesome Japan to pay tribute to all of the hard work the fans have done over the years!

Oh... I always thought the beauty of the whole #SaveShenmue campaign was how we all came together to make it happen, but apparently it was just this one guy. :/

P.S.: I like how engaged the camera guy is throughout the video, even nodding in agreement. :-)

To the people saying this is a lackluster update, you don't really know what you're talking about. Many of the backers for Shenmue aren't actually in tune with the Shenmue community. This update gives interested new fans the opportunity to join the movement. Introducing all the backers to the community in the final stretches of the campaign opens up wider possibilities and prepares the foundation for a PayPal campaign after the fact. It gives those who weren't aware of the community a place to go after the Kickstarter is over, when it's time to raise whats left of the 10 million and viral market Shenmue III's eventual release when it's time.

    21. Scherge on July 7, 2015

      @funnyboy_r
You're never going to let this go, are you? :-)

Also, I find it more and more irritating how many people have been involved in the planning of this Kickstarter. So, all these "ambassadors" have known about it since March, and all this campaign gets out of it are canned interviews?

On the plus side: Impressive job on keeping everything secret until E3! That's not sarcasm, by the way. I'm honestly impressed there were no leaks.

If anything this would have been a nice side update with on the 3rd

Something needs to be done about the stretch goals between 5.1 Million and 6 million. That is a dead zone and will really hinder the last days of the campaign.

My recommendation is to add some simple stretch goals between that. Maybe something like Shenmue 1 and 2 easter eggs hidden in Shenmue 3.

Another option would be a few more languages put as stretch goals. For example maybe Chinese at 5.3 Million and Russian at 5.5 million. The Russians were, and still are, huge dreamcast fans.

900,000 dollars with no stretch goals to push for will really hurt funding.

Yeah watching someone gush over how much they like it, being used as an update, seems like a waste of time, there are a lot of videos on YouTube I can go to see that.

Nothing about the campaign itself, and the funding progress in the next 10 days ? It's time to try something huge, drop another bomb, new rewards... We need these 10M, even with a Paypal option after the campaign :-) Please tell us about your funding plans, that's what matters now !
