Picnic anytime -- anticipate the best.
Yield Bags use a zipper instead of seams, allowing them to unfold flat and reveal a clean surface for use indoors or out. They're perfect for an afternoon in the park or a play date with kids. Designed for flexibility, the Yield Bag is your everyday carry-all, grocery tote, lunch bag, and more.

We ♥ simplicity.
Simplicity is a key element in spontaneity. Yield Bags use one continuous zipper which acts not only as the bag's handle, but also unzips to reveal the contents inside.
We value quality over quantity. We searched for the best materials to ensure your picnic stays dry: nylon cordura provides camping-grade, water-resistant protection, alongside our high-grade #5 nylon zipper, and leather details.
Dimensions zipped: 12.5" H, 10" x 6" base.
When unfolded, the blanket measures 36" H x 49" W
Rewards

We've partnered with some of our favorite brands to provide a more complete picnic experience.
In the "Complete Set" you'll find a classic, stainless steel tiffin to contain your lunches inside, as well as a co-branded bkr glass + silicone water bottle.
The "Fully Stocked" set includes all of the accessories as well as a vegetarian-friendly picnic selection co-curated by the kind people at the Good Food Awards!

Why we need you!
The design of our product does not end in its physical form. The manufacturing logistics are extremely central to the integrity of the product, which is why we insisted on a thorough sourcing process. We were fortunate enough to find a great US manufacturer with an office here in San Francisco and a final production facility in El Paso, TX.

Who is Yield?
Yield Design Co is a San Francisco based design studio co-founded by Rachel Gant and Andrew Deming. Both grew up in the Carolinas and met while studying at CCA in San Francisco.
Rachel is an Industrial Designer with a background in Architecture. Her experience in seeing multiple products through from design to manufacturing allows her to ensures that our designs meet manufacturing in way that harmonizes efficiency and detail while maintaining the integrity the product's original intent.
Andrew is a Design Strategist with a background in visual design & branding. Prior to starting Yield, he worked as a designer/strategist at fuseproject and recently completed a Design MBA.

Our studio manifested as a reaction to loving what you do; Yield products encourage moments of celebration throughout daily routine.
The Picnic Bag will be our very first project to launch under the Yield brand. We have done nearly everything you see here--Andrew is responsible for art direction + business strategy while Rachel manages product design + manufacturing.

A big thank you goes to:

Risks and challenges
TIMEFRAME - We have confirmed Holiday shipping!!
Quality: In order to maintain quality consistency as the bags reach a larger scale, we perform quality checks frequently to ensure each bag meets our standards.
Internal Challenges: Crafting an entire business is no small task! We believe in consistency whether it's the quality of customer service, manufacturing, or the product itself. Andrew's background in Design Strategy harnesses us with the skills and foresight to precede challenges, consult the experts, and self-sustain our endeavors. A self-sustaining, small business would ensure that in the LONG run, we can control more of those challenges rather than outsource. By curating our ideas carefully, we offer quality over quantity and scale gracefully alongside our business.
