Console Release & Production Update for September 2018
Apart from the release of our Kickstarter, we've also been hard at work with adding new features and further polishing the game's content. Because we've reached some stretch goals, our scope has become bigger (but nothing unmanageable, don't worry), so we're here to give you an updated timeline.
With the addition of the harem route and Pamu (moist), we have to adjust the game’s scripts in order to reflect this. We've also received feedback from our alpha demo survey* that the game needs more choices. We’re taking this into consideration, so expect the final version to have more choices and interactivity.
Here’s our new progress chart for the writing department:
*Our alpha demo survey is open until the end of our Kickstarter. Apart from helping us improve the game, all participants will receive a special Love Esquire wallpaper.
After achieving our $20k stretch goal, our animator has proceeded to animating the backgrounds. Our BGs are now breathing and alive! We’ve also added interactable objects that would give coins/items and play simple animations when you interact with them.
Here’s a work-in-progress BG (not final):
Another thing that we’ve added into the game are item sprites. These sprites highlight certain objects that are mentioned in the narrative.
Here's a sample item sprite (not final):
Lastly, thanks to our More CGs goal, we were able to beef up our total CG count to more than 50 (or possibly even more than 60). We’ve also decided to upgrade our epilogue slides from a stylized sketch to full-blown CGs.
Here are some work-in-progress CGs (not final):
And here’s our new progress chart for the art department:
Our composer is continuing to produce more BGMs that will be used for various events or situations. Here’s one for emotional and tear-jerking scenes. Give it a listen and let us know what you think!
D. Design & Programming:
Over the next few months, we’ll focus on debugging and improving the different aspects of the game, especially the RPG campaign. We’re also considering adding more features based on player suggestions that we think might give more depth into the gameplay (such as the jealousy system). Nothing’s set in stone, though, but we promise to update you as we go along.
E. Release Date:
The game’s new release date for PC is sometime mid 2019 in order to make way for the stretch goals that we’ve unlocked, followed by a mobile release and...
We’ve been in talks with a console publisher for quite sometime now, and we’re looking at the possibility of releasing for the Nintendo Switch, PS Vita and PS4; both digital and physical. This is something that we’re really excited about, and if our deal with them goes well, all ✪ DIGITAL EXCLUSIVE ✪ and above backers will get 1 digital console copy of choice, while ✪ COLLECTOR'S EDITION ✪ and above backers will get 1 physical console copy of choice.
