We care deeply about our backers. You guys are what made it possible we're even doing this. Cthulhu: A Deck Building Game was our first Kickstarter. We made mistakes. We've owned up to them several times publicly. Not that this is an excuse, and to be very frank and open, but our manufacturer printed the wrong version of the assets in the final run of the game. Because they are in China there was no recourse we could really take. I cringe every time I see a misspelling or a grammar problem that we caught in our final edits.
As for upgrade packs, we understand why this is desired. However, the economics of the matter is that we have to sell the games in order to make them. Creating a partial game pack that just corrects the errors is not a sustainable product. We have to create a product that we can put on a shelf in order to survive. There are about 450 cards in the original game and about 75-80% of those had some edit made to make the cards more consistent and clear. So in a way, the 2nd printing is the upgrade pack.
Cthulhu: A Deck Building Game 2nd edition, will have an MSRP of $59.99 so we are pretty deeply discounting it here for this very reason. We hope you understand and join us in the chaos.
