The Elder Gods greet and invite you to participate in trying to save your wretched existence. The stars are aligning soon and only those who have dared to piece together the clues from the mythos even know what's coming. Do you and your fellow investigators have what it takes to save everything?
I think not...
Cthulhu A Deck Building Game takes its inspiration from the works of H.P. Lovecraft. H.P. Lovecraft was an American author who achieved posthumous fame through his influential works of horror fiction. Virtually unknown and only published in pulp magazines before he died in poverty, he is now regarded as one of the most significant 20th-century authors in his genre. Among his most celebrated tales are "The Call of Cthulhu", canonical to the Cthulhu Mythos.

Once we reach our funding goal, with your help, we will finalize any additional art required from the new Investigators, Mythos, Minons, and Library cards that might be added during the campaign. Next we will go to print. The game is being printed by a known good game manufacturer who will require 90 days to get them completed and shipped to us for distribution. We estimate that we will then need at least two weeks to ship everything out to our backers. Which all in all means backers will start getting the final product towards the end of June.
See you at Gen Con!!
We've been accepted as an exhibitor at Gen Con 2016!! The show will mark our official product launch and will showcase a completed product ready for purchase. The creators of the game will be on-hand for play-throughs and demos. Gen Con will be held on August 4-7 in Indianapolis, IN. Come join us!
Shipping within the United States is included with your pledge amount however we are asking an extra $10 for International shipments. We welcome pledges from all countries. To those backers outside of the USA we are implementing a suggestion by one of your fellow backers, the use of an international shipping service, to avoid additional taxes, duties, or tariffs.
You cooperatively work with fellow players (1-6+ players) as Investigators to banish the Elder God and his minions by using Moxie (force of character, determination, or nerve) to reduce their health to zero. If you banish the Elder God before he reduces all of the Investigators health or sanity to zero you win the game. There are two phases of the game, a planning and combat phase.1) In the planning phase, the Investigators activate cards in their hand, research new cards at the Miskatonic University and then ready themselves in final preparation.2) In the combat phase, the Elder God and his minions attack the Investigators' health and sanity. Investigators may go crazy or die out right, however, they have a chance to fight back. The Investigators use Moxie to push back the waves of the occult and supernatural.Building your personal library by researching in the Miskatonic University makes you stronger and is your only hope against the Elders. However, keep in mind, every bit of resource used to research is a bit not used against the Mythos. It is a balance you must solve to defeat the Elder Gods.
What is a Deck Building Game?
Deck building games are card games with a core mechanic that involves acquiring cards and adding them to your deck (your stack of cards). When your deck runs out you shuffle together your discard pile and your newly acquired cards are now part of your deck. Everything you need to play the game is included in the box.
We are three best buddies who have been playing games together since we could roll dice. We've always had many ideas for projects and games and now with your help we can finally make one a reality. Our day jobs include software development, project management, training, and marketing so we feel like we have the right skills to pull this off.We hope that this is the first of many games we produce. We have a backlog of ideas and we can't wait to get them as far we have this one. At this point all of the art, game design, and playtesting are complete. We just need your help to fund the manufacturing.
WE NEED YOUR HELP MANUFACTURING OUR GAME.We've been working on this project for a little over a year now and are so excited to finally get to a finished product. We plan to have the official launch of the game at Gen Con 2016. We've left plenty of time between the end of the Kickstarter and then so that we make sure to hit our launch. Even though this is our plan, we will start shipping the game out to YOU, the backer, as soon as it comes back from the manufacturer.

Risks and challenges
We've been playtesting Cthulhu : A Deck Building Game for nearly a year now, and can't wait to get it into your hands. At this point all of the art, game design, and playtesting are complete. We just need your help to fund the manufacturing.
The biggest risk is that this is our first game product. We could make mistakes but rest assured that collectively our team has decades of gaming experience and feel confident we know a fun exciting game when we see it. This is one.
We are using known good game manufacturing. So we are solid there. A couple of our team members work for a logistics company so we have that under control as well.
We know we have a great game here in a very popular genre. Our biggest challenge is getting the word out. People love it when they see it, we just need to put it in front of them. Any help you can provide by sharing our project will help us reach our stretch goals!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
