Wyrmwood Tabletop Tiles
A Fun, Modular, Magnetic System for Organizing All Your Board Game & RPG Components, Beautifully Crafted from Natural Materials
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Fri, April 19 2019 4:00 AM UTC +00:00.
Tabletop Tiles are a brand new, modular system from Wyrmwood to help organize and enhance your game night. Designed with both board games and RPGs in mind, there's options for every gamer and game group, and the modular nature of the system makes it easy to choose the best configuration for your needs.
Each Tabletop Tile is available in our beautiful array of domestic and exotic hardwoods. You can choose a different wood for each Tile in your set, or pledge for a matched set. The Tabletop Tiles system features three key elements:
Whether you pledge for the entire system or a single component, whatever wood you choose, you're assured of three things:
1) Wyrmwood Craftsmanship We offer quality that is second to none, and work to ensure that each and every piece we create is one that you will take pride in for a lifetime.
2) Wyrmwood Service Our commitment to client satisfaction is a cornerstone of our philosophy and has been from the day Wyrmwood began seven years ago.
3) The Wyrmwood Craftsman's Promise Our unconditional lifetime guarantee - we stand behind our work and your satisfaction, and if you're unhappy, we will make it right.
The Card Tile features four shallow slots to hold cards. It especially shines with the smaller cards included with many board games. Great for Takenoko (pictured), Settlers of Catan and many more! Includes magnets for connecting to other Tabletop Tiles, posts for stacking, and integrated coaster on the underside.
The Solo Tile features a single, large bowl with smoothly sloping edges, making it easy to draw out components. Ideal for general use, or when there is only one type of component in the game. Great for Carcassonne, Ticket To Ride (pictured), Azul and many more! Includes magnets for connecting to other Tabletop Tiles, posts for stacking, and integrated coaster on the underside.
The Duo Tile features two segments, for smaller numbers of discrete components that make sense to keep separate. Great for Viticulture, Wingspan (pictured) and many more. Includes magnets for connecting to other Tabletop Tiles, posts for stacking, and integrated coaster on the underside.
The Trio Tile features three separated cavities, best suited to smaller components or player resources of several different types. Great for Settlers of Catan, Raccoon Tycoon, 7 Wonders (pictured) and many more! Includes magnets for connecting to other Tabletop Tiles, posts for stacking, and integrated coaster on the underside.
A Dice Tray is a staple at any game night. The Rolling Tile keeps your dice contained and gives you a dedicated surface on which to roll. It features stone-oiled water buffalo leather for the rolling surface, as well as magnets for connecting to other Tabletop Tiles and posts for stacking.
The Tile of Shame is here to discipline your "misbehaving" dice. It features a circle of brass posts to encase a single die, with space around the center for the rest of your dice to gather. Are they there to learn the consequences of rolling poorly, or are they taunting the caged die for its misbehavior? You decide! Includes magnets for connecting to other Tabletop Tiles and posts for stacking.
The Caster Tile is designed for players of 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons. If you're playing a magic user in the World's Greatest Role-Playing Game, you're familiar with spell slots - as you level up, your spellcaster will gain the ability to cast certain numbers of higher level spells over time. Small cavities hold ball bearings which allow you to track your used and unused slots over a gaming session, with slots for all Spell Levels, 1-9. To remove them, simply use the included magnetic wand! Also includes spaces to track your death saves. Includes magnets for connecting to other Tabletop Tiles, posts for stacking, and integrated coaster on the underside.
The Full Size Dice Jail is designed for those situations where a Tile of Shame just isn't enough... when you've got an offender that needs to be removed from the rest of your dice for a longer stay, or you've got too many disobedient dice - the Dice Jail is the answer. Includes magnets for connecting to other Tabletop Tiles, posts for stacking, and integrated coaster on the underside.
Bobby & Doug discuss about the finer points of the Tabletop Tile design and campaign.
As not just one brand-new product, but seven, Tabletop Tiles are a perfect fit for Kickstarter. Through this campaign, we hope to gauge demand for the Tabletop Tiles line, and which Tiles backers prefer.
In addition, if the campaign is successful, we'll be able to produce Tabletop Tiles efficiently, in large runs. That efficiency allows us to expand our wood selection to increase the variety on offer.
Finally, the Kickstarter platform allows us to reach many people. We truly believe Tabletop Tiles have the potential to greatly improve the experience at the game table; the more gamers we reach, the better!
With your help, Tabletop Tiles will become a reality. Better organization, unique features, and all the options you need: game night will never be the same.
But it can't happen without you!
Our vlog series 'Wyrm Lyfe' has caught the Tabletop Tiles at various stages of development. Check out this segment of episode 3 of the current season as Doug, Ed & Jason go over the earliest prototypes of the Tiles and debate the launch date.
The following segment from episode 7 of this season takes a look at the most recent prototypes of the Tiles. Watch Bobby, Doug, Jason & Ed review the new features - they may have had just a little too much fun with them...
The Craftsman's Promise is our unconditional lifetime guarantee, and has applied to every accessory we've ever made. You can pledge with confidence knowing Wyrmwood stands behind each and every Tabletop Tile we make, and always will.
Exceptional Materials: Every piece Wyrmwood creates is crafted using premium hardwoods sourced from around the world. We care deeply about the environment and strive to source our woods ethically and responsibly; to that end, we donate a portion of the sales of our rarest woods towards rainforest sustainability and preservation through the Rainforest Trust. For more information on our wood sourcing, visit our website. For more information about Rainforest Trust, click here.
Hand Rubbed Finish: We use a close-to-the-wood oil and wax finish to protect the piece while allowing the natural character, feel, and color of the material to shine through. We never use dyes or stains. A hand rubbed finish is quite labor intensive, but we believe that the results are worth it, and we think you will, too.
Built For People, By People: Humans are social creatures, and gaming is an inherently social event. There's a special magic that takes place when people come together to play, whether it's for a role-playing session or a board game night with friends or family.
Each and every piece is made by our skilled craftsmen, right here in New England, and you are directly supporting our work every time you pledge to a campaign, order from our website, or purchase from us at a convention.
Our Name and Our Word: Wyrmwood stands for uncompromising quality and customer satisfaction, and as craftsmen we stake our name and reputation on that satisfaction. If you aren’t thrilled, we aren’t done. This is why we unconditionally guarantee our work - for life.
Don't have a favorite wood? Do you love them all? We feel the same way! That's why we're offering Roll The Dice as an option for this campaign to give backers lots of variety, and help avoid dreaded Analysis Paralysis!
When you pledge for a component at this level, your wood will be randomly determined from the Kickstarter lineup, with nearly all unlocked woods at the end of the campaign included.
Please note that if you would like a matched set of Tabletop Tiles, Roll The Dice is not for you - if your pledge contains multiple Roll The Dice Tabletop Tiles, they will not match - in fact, each Tile will be a different, unique wood!
To pledge for any of these items, simply add the indicated amount to your pledge (you can use our pledge calculator to determine your total). After the conclusion of the campaign, you'll confirm the items you pledged for in the pledge manager, BackerKit. There, you'll also be able to add any items you forgot in your Kickstarter pledge.
For full pricing information, see the Pledge Calculator.

Wyrmwood is a dedicated group of craftsmen based in New England. The company started five years ago with just three people, and a simple idea. As lifelong gamers, we'd grown up playing tabletop games and forging friendships across the table, and those connections had remained a part of our lives. But we'd changed in many ways - we'd grown up - and tabletop gaming had, too. What if the accessories and tools we used to play them did the same?
In the beginning it was just a few friends in a garage workshop, working for a few days a week. We launched our first Kickstarter, and then found ourselves working every day, and bringing in some friends to help.
As time went on, we kept growing - we left other jobs and came to Wyrmwood, full-time. We kept expanding, launching new projects and products, and traveling around the country to conventions to show our work in person, too.
Wherever we went, we found gamers that wanted quality accessories to enhance their experience. We also found other hardworking people that loved both games and craftsmanship: developing a skill, honing a craft, producing something worthwhile with their hands. We outgrew the garage, and moved into a facility. In early 2018, we outgrew that, and moved again.
Though we've grown a lot since we began, we're a close knit group of people - we work together, travel together, and game together. Whether it's D&D in the shop after hours, bowling or mini golf on a weekend, or a video game tournament at our holiday party, we're not just co-workers - we're teammates; we're friends; we're a family.
What started as a hobby in a garage for a few has become a career for many. A lot has changed since we launched the original Dice Vault on Kickstarter in 2013, but our mission remains: to create the finest gaming supplies, to offer unparalleled, uncompromising service, and to strive to continually innovate and improve. In short, to up our game at the same time we up your game.
When you pledge, it isn't a purchase of a mass-produced, cookie-cutter product from a corporate machine; it supports a real piece of handcrafted woodworking, created by the people you see here. Your support enables us to do what we love: keep working to expand the world of tabletop gaming. That means a lot to us, and we're committed to crafting a piece that will mean a lot to you. So, from each and every one of us at Wyrmwood:
The one that started it all. In 2013, Wyrmwood made its big public debut to invent the Dice Vault, still our most popular accessory to date. Over funding by 4,000%, this project blew far past our meager expectations. We redesigned the product to improve it during the campaign, called in favors from family and friends, worked more than 24 hours straight as shipping deadlines neared... but when the dust cleared, we only fell behind one month from our original estimate.
Two years later, we launched our Magnetic Dice Tower. Applying everything we'd learned from our first campaign,we over funded by more than 2,000% but managed to fulfill without a hitch.
Later that same year we expanded our lineup, developing a solution for storing and transporting your favorite character mini. The Hero Vault over funded by over 600% and was fulfilled with no significant delays.
In 2016, we launched our Hero Vault, Dice Vault & Dice Tray with versions officially licensed by Privateer Press, featuring Warmachine & Hordes. This project over funded by more than 300% and was completely fulfilled with no significant delays.
Also in 2016, we launched our Sentinel Deck Box. This project over funded by more than 650% and was completely fulfilled with no significant delays.
2017 saw the launch of our Magnetic Game Master Screen, one of our most anticipated campaigns. This project over funded by almost 4,000%. We encountered significant headwinds during the production and fulfillment of this campaign, due to unprecedented complexity and variation in design, and the challenges of a growing company. We fell about 5 months behind our fulfillment estimates. Since then, we've deliberately made our shipping estimates more conservative, greatly enhanced our infrastructure and worked to integrate systems with the goal of preventing us from falling that far behind again.
In spring of 2018, we launched our Adventurer's Arsenal. Our most successful campaign to date, it overfunded by more than 5,000% from nearly 2,500 backers. Outgrowing our shop at the time, we fell about two months behind in fulfillment. Now moved into our new location, we're still behind but gaining ground and should be wrapping up completely within weeks.
In autumn of 2018, we revisited the Magnetic Dice Tower with new features, new woods and new add-ons. This project overfunded by more than 3,000%. Fulfillment is behind by about one month, but should be concluding in a matter of weeks.
Originally intended to be a website promotion for Halloween 2018, the Lovecraft Collection prototypes - and the promotional content our media team created with them - exceeded our expectations such that we felt it deserved a wider release, so we took it to Kickstarter. The project overfunded by over 3,000% and the vast majority of pledges fulfilled with no significant delays; some erroneously filled out pledges remain, but should be completely fulfilled in the coming weeks.
Risks and challenges
This project, like all Wyrmwood campaigns, is low risk. If funded, there's virtually no chance that we will not fulfill it, though delays are always possible, and unforeseen issues can always crop up in manufacturing.
Notably, this project hinges on one particular piece of equipment, which is currently being installed into our shop. We have had issues with prior machines of this kind, and we are replacing a faulty model with the current one, which is a much higher grade version from a manufacturer in which we have confidence. Whenever a project is so dependent on a particular machine, there is obviously a problem if the machine develops issues.
We will strive to make sure any issues we encounter do not impact our backers, and have built into our shipping estimates some anticipation of delays. As our tenth Kickstarter campaign, we have a good handle on the perils and pitfalls of developing and launching new products, then scaling up production, and are confident that we should be able to meet these estimates, come what may.
Wyrmwood has never failed to fulfill a campaign, and stands behind each and every piece we produce, for life. You can back with confidence.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
