The Wyrmwood Hero Vault 2.0
The only way to carry your Tabletop Roleplaying necessities.
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Thu, October 3 2019 5:11 PM UTC +00:00.
The Wyrmwood Hero Vault 2.0 is a ground-up redesign of our Hero Vault: a solid wood, magnetic case designed to hold your role playing miniature or a favorite set of dice. The new design features four major improvements, detailed below.
1) Capacity 33% more space means more dice, or even your XL half-giant mini!
2) Intuitive, Secure Design a thumb grip allows you to easily open it, and an interior lip makes the closure extra secure - perfect for your RPG essentials.
3) Compatible with the Tabletop Tile System the Hero Vault 2.0 was designed specifically to integrate with our Tabletop Tile system. If you aren't familiar with the Tabletop Tile system, you can click here to view the Kickstarter campaign page.
4) Tailored Design two designs, each with unique interior routing and specifically chosen depths to ensure a perfect fit; one for dice and another for miniatures.
Tailored Interior Designs
Two thoughtfully tailored designs with unique interior routing and depth mean that whether you choose the dice or miniature version, you're getting a perfect fit made to do exactly what you want. This isn't just a catch-all "case" - it's a Hero Vault, and yours has a purpose.
Intuitive Thumb Grip
Adding a thumb grip solves a long-standing issue with our original Hero Vault design. Namely, that it was not intuitive to open. A thumb grip is not only comfortable, but communicates immediately how you should open the case.
33% more space in the miniature design means even more options - playing a half-giant with an XL mini? No problem. What about that awesome pose on your barbarian, raising a battleaxe above their head? Got it.
Compatible with the Tabletop Tiles System
The hexagonal design provides a better aesthetic and tactile experience, making it easier to handle, more contoured and, let's face it, a lot cooler looking than our previous model. In addition, the Hero Vault 2.0 matches the design of the product line launched with our last Kickstarter campaign, Tabletop Tiles. After all, what gamer doesn't love hexes?
The Hero Vault 2.0 is held together via super strong, rare earth magnets, and there's also an interior lip, creating a rabbet joint in the case. This means it can't be rotated or accidentally knocked open, instead only opening when you want it to. And that's exactly what you need for your RPG essentials.
No matter what design and wood you choose for your Hero Vault, you're assured of three things:
1) Wyrmwood Craftsmanship We offer quality that is second to none, and work to ensure that each and every piece we create is one that you will take pride in for a lifetime.
2) Wyrmwood Service Our commitment to client satisfaction is a cornerstone of our philosophy and has been from the day Wyrmwood began seven years ago.
3) The Wyrmwood Craftsman's Promise Our unconditional lifetime guarantee - we stand behind our work and your satisfaction, and if you're unhappy, we will make it right.
The Mini Interior is a large, open area to hold your role-playing mini. We've maximized the space, and also increased the depth of the design so that even the largest player characters with the most outlandish poses shouldn't pose a problem. Of course, the secure magnetic closure, rabbet joint, foam lining and thumb grip are all included.
The Dice Interior is a segmented design to allow for a balance of dedicated enclosures and flexibility. The center hexagon, which mirrors the Hero Vault's outer design, is intended to house your primary d20 - the most iconic and important die in your set, at the core of your Hero Vault! The three other compartments are designed to hold 2-3 standard size dice each. The mix of dice and exact number, of course, is up to you.
To commemorate the Hero Vault 2.0, the talented Crystal Sully (click here to visit her website) created three monstrous visions, designed specifically to adorn limited edition Hero Vaults. Each villainous visage is available in your choice of Cherry, Mahogany, Purpleheart or Figured Myrtle.
Katalox, the Corrupted
A tragic figure, Katalox was once the protector of the Wyrmwood and its greatest champion. Dark magic twisted her mind, and now she operates as an extension of that power, warping and corrupting all she touches in her quest for revenge.
Include Katalox in your game!
The fall of Katalox forever altered the Wyrmwood - both the region, and the people within it. Perhaps the most horrifying and grotesque example of this influence is the Hoarding Horror.

The Hull Buster Kraken:
The dark energy consuming Katalox has spread to the water, and destruction follows in its wake. Once harmless denizens of the sea, the menacing kraken now infesting the southwestern coast seek to destroy any ships attempting to reach the Wyrmwood.

During Gen Con 2019, Wyrmwood's Creative Director Bobby had the opportunity to sit down with the "Maker of Monsters" herself, Crystal Sully, and spend a few moments discussing her creative process, and exactly how Katalox and her fellow monsters came to be.
We're honored to include work from friend of Wyrmwood Deven Rue, the Mistress of Maps (click here to visit her website)! Known for her work with Critical Role and elsewhere, she brings her passion for cartography to the unique format of the Hero Vault 2.0.
Pledge for the "Mistress of Maps" to choose a map from our selection and have it etched across the surface of a Hero Vault in one of three striking woods. Each wood was chosen specifically for its ability to act as a complementary canvas and showcase the fine details of the illustration.
With four woods, three maps and two Hero Vault 2.0 designs, there are 24 combinations to choose from - which will you take on your journey?
"Many a weary traveler has found their way to the desert oasis in Vendras. Tucked between the shaded valleys of the steep mountains, this little haven is a blessing of the gods! Well, that is until you hear the prices of a single skin of water or the price of lodging!"
"You can smell the Ifiron marshes before you ever reach them. A mix of wet moss, decaying earth, mingled with sulfur. Your clothes and gear feel damp just from the air much less the slimy green water seeping into your boots. Did a shadow just pass under the water's surface?"
"Once a thick jungle, the Wallerfen desert is now little more than endless sand dunes & wind-carved rocks. The ever-shrinking rivers, now too salty to drink, offer no respite from the constant hot air blowing across them. Nothing but sand & rock in every direction...but it's not what you can see that makes this desert interesting enough to risk your life to cross."
For the ultimate edition of the Hero Vault 2.0, we present a return to one of our most popular special editions. First offered during the Adventurer's Arsenal campaign, the Gaia Edition is back!
Featuring stunning marquetry inlay on a Figured Myrtle Hero Vault with your choice of interior, each Gaia Edition will include a beautifully rendered, hand-inlaid flower blossom in a variety of woods.
Backers at this level may choose any flower they like for their own piece, which will be designed and inlaid by our marquetry specialist, Cesia Zamora. Alternatively, backers may choose to yield to craftsperson inspiration, and leave the choice of flower to her discretion. Either way, each Gaia Edition - like a single flower blooming in nature - will be a one-of-a-kind work of art, crafted from natural materials.
The Gaia Edition will be offered in highly limited tiers, 5 per month initially, increasing to a maximum of 10 per month due to the time-intensive, highly custom nature of each piece.
Note: Pledges for the Gaia Edition include complimentary worldwide shipping.
Don't have a favorite wood? Do you love them all? We feel the same way! That's why we're offering our popular 'Roll The Dice' option in this campaign.
When you pledge for a component at this level, your wood will be randomly determined from the Kickstarter lineup, with nearly all unlocked woods at the end of the campaign included. Your Hero Vault will also include a free custom text engraving of your choice!
If you pledge for more than one 'Roll The Dice' Hero Vault 2.0, we will make an effort not to include duplicates, but note that this is not guaranteed, since it will be randomly determined from available items at time of fulfillment.
In addition to the Hero Vault 2.0, you can pledge for a wide variety of add-ons to enhance your game even further. See the full selection below!

Exceptional Materials: Every piece Wyrmwood creates is crafted using premium hardwoods sourced from around the world. We care deeply about the environment and strive to source our woods ethically and responsibly; to that end, we donate a portion of the sales of our rarest woods towards rainforest sustainability and preservation through the Rainforest Trust. For more information on our wood sourcing, visit our website. For more information about Rainforest Trust, click here.
Hand Rubbed Finish: We use a close-to-the-wood oil and wax finish to protect the piece while allowing the natural character, feel, and color of the material to shine through. We never use dyes or stains. A hand rubbed finish is quite labor intensive, but we believe that the results are worth it, and we think you will, too.
Built For People, By People: Humans are social creatures, and gaming is an inherently social event. There's a special magic that takes place when people come together to play, whether it's for a role-playing session or a board game night with friends or family.
Each and every piece is made by our skilled craftsmen, right here in New England, and you are directly supporting our work every time you pledge to a campaign, order from our website, or purchase from us at a convention.
Our Name and Our Word: Wyrmwood stands for uncompromising quality and customer satisfaction, and as craftsmen we stake our name and reputation on that satisfaction. If you aren’t thrilled, we aren’t done. This is why we unconditionally guarantee our work - for life.
The Hero Vault 2.0 has been in development for some time. We believe it represents a big improvement over the original design, and we're excited to see if you agree.
A successful Kickstarter campaign will make the production of the Hero Vault 2.0 efficient. By gathering pledges, and then locking them down as orders, we'll know exactly how many items of each type of wood to produce. Not only that, but we'll also know the split between the interior designs for each. All of this means that we'll be able to spend our time crafting the items our backers want, and no wasted time making ones they don't.
Since we're gathering hard numbers, we can also offer variety and options. Since we'll only need to produce what is actually ordered, we can offer a lot more variety of engravings, woods and more - as you've already seen above.
Finally, the Kickstarter platform allows us to reach many people. We truly believe the Hero Vault 2.0 is an exciting, fun accessory that will enhance the gaming experience for many tabletop fans. Kickstarter helps them find it in a way no other platform can.
With help from backers like you, the Hero Vault 2.0 will become a reality. A fine quality, dedicated personal storage solution for an RPG mini or set of dice can allow many gamers to engage more with the tabletop experience, and enhance the gameplay for their entire group as a result. And that's what we here at Wyrmwood are all about.
Wyrmwood is a dedicated group of craftsmen based in New England. The company started five years ago with just three people, and a simple idea. As lifelong gamers, we'd grown up playing tabletop games and forging friendships across the table, and those connections had remained a part of our lives. But we'd changed in many ways - we'd grown up - and tabletop gaming had, too. What if the accessories and tools we used to play them did the same?
In the beginning it was just a few friends in a garage workshop, working for a few days a week. We launched our first Kickstarter campaign, and then found ourselves working every day, and bringing in some friends to help.
As time went on, we kept growing - we left other jobs and came to Wyrmwood, full-time. We kept expanding, launching new projects and products, and traveling around the country to conventions to show our work in person, too.
Wherever we went, we found gamers that wanted quality accessories to enhance their experience. We also found other hardworking people that loved both games and craftsmanship: developing a skill, honing a craft, producing something worthwhile with their hands. We outgrew the garage, and moved into a facility. In early 2018, we outgrew that, and moved again.
Though we've grown a lot since we began, we're a close knit group of people - we work together, travel together, and game together. Whether it's D&D in the shop after hours, bowling or mini golf on a weekend, or a video game tournament at our holiday party, we're not just co-workers - we're teammates; we're friends; we're a family.
What started as a hobby in a garage for a few has become a career for many. A lot has changed since we launched the original Dice Vault on Kickstarter in 2013, but our mission remains: to create the finest gaming supplies, to offer unparalleled, uncompromising service, and to strive to continually innovate and improve. In short, to up our game at the same time we up your game.
When you pledge, it isn't a purchase of a mass-produced, cookie-cutter product from a corporate machine; it supports a real piece of handcrafted woodworking, created by the people you see here. Your support enables us to do what we love: keep working to expand the world of tabletop gaming. That means a lot to us, and we're committed to crafting a piece that will mean a lot to you. So, from each and every one of us at Wyrmwood:
Risks and challenges
This project, like all Wyrmwood campaigns, is low risk. If funded, there's virtually no chance that we will not fulfill it, though delays are always possible, and unforeseen issues can always crop up in manufacturing. That said, we will strive to ensure that we meet our estimates and deliver on time - or early, if possible.
We may add additional machinery should demand require it, but we should have most of what is needed to fulfill this campaign already in place. All that remains is to finalize designs, test and refine the production process, and purchase all of the necessary materials. We have already located sources for them, so we do not anticipate any problems in doing so quickly, once the Kickstarter funds become available.
We will strive to make sure any issues we encounter do not impact our backers, and have built into our shipping estimates some anticipation of delays. As our eleventh Kickstarter campaign, we have a good handle on the perils and pitfalls of developing and launching new products, then scaling up production, and are confident that we should be able to meet these estimates, come what may.
Wyrmwood has never failed to fulfill a campaign, and stands behind each and every piece we produce, for life. You can back this project with the utmost confidence.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
