Debuting on Kickstarter in 2018, the Master Vault proved to be one of our most popular and sought-after accessories. For Halloween this year, we're bringing them back - for a very limited time.
The Master Vault is a hardwood case which houses everything a player needs for their RPG session. The Master Vault can hold a miniature and up to three sets of dice using the specially designed, foam-lined mortises within. Powerful rare-earth magnets make sure the Master Vault closes securely, while a thumb notch allows you to easily open it.
Use it on its own, or combine it with a Personal Dice Tray and leather strap for a complete portable gaming solution.
In honor of this hallowed night, horrific visions have been brought to life. From the twisted mind of Crystal Sully come three villains, let loose upon the world to wreak havoc. The Headless Horseman, a symbol of malice and murder... the dread Werewolf, an icon of bloodlust and rage... and Katalox the Tiefling, evil mistress of cunning and revenge.
Choose a nightmare... and pair it with any wood and inlay to make it your own. From the twisted mind of Crystal Sully we give you our Halloween Monster line up. The headless horseman, the werewolf, and Katalox the dark tiefling. Choose any piece of art for any wood and inaly pairings.
The Monsters present on the Monster Vaults represent various aspects of evil. Gathered by Katalox, the Corrupted, the Drawing of the Three was a long and difficult process. Below are her notes on them.
Aspect of Malice
A legend known through many cultures, passed down over generations, the stories of who or what he once was are as numerous and varied as his victims; what is known is that in life he died suddenly and violently, his head torn from his body. He rides without rest and without mercy, taking from others what was taken from him. Some say that he would rest if only he could find his own head. But would he even recognize it now? Or is the man he was forever lost, replaced by the rider whose highest purpose is achieved in murder and hatred? Does he seek peace, and would he rest if he could? In the end, such questions are answered only by the sound of demonic hooves clattering in the night, and a strangled cry, only half-uttered, hanging in malevolent silence.
Aspect of Vengeance
The dragon Katalox once guarded the Wyrmwood, its protector and greatest champion. But dark magics infected her mind, and now she exists as a warped, twisted version of her former, noble self. She seeks revenge against the Wyrmwood, blaming them for her downfall. Taking humanoid form temporarily, she retains all of her cunning, but can employ subterfuge, making her all the more dangerous. Katalox has used her influence and powers of persuasion to seek out and recruit the other aspects of the curse: lieutenants in her bloody campaign for revenge.
While she remains in her Tiefling guise, she prepares her forces for the assault; on Halloween night, she will revert to her dragon form, casting aside stealth for her full hate power.
There is hope that, one day, she can be redeemed, and freed of the curse that enslaves her mind. However, no one knows if the steadfast and loyal creature she once was still exists, or if the corruption has erased that part of her forever. What's more, even if she was brought back - could the Katalox of old live with the things she's done?
Aspect of Bloodlust
Many whisper of the Werewolf, a shapeshifting monster all the more terrifying because of its ability to walk among us undetected. Whether through curse or infection, the werewolf was once human, but becomes something else. Most believe the full moon brings out the transformation: the human form grotesquely warped, painfully twisted into the shape of a hulking, giant wolf. But while wolves hunt as their hunger demands, the werewolf hunts for sheer joy; to take in the scent of the night around it, to see the terror of its prey, to taste the metallic nectar of fresh-spilled blood, to feel flesh torn asunder by claw and tooth - all senses elevated far beyond their former, meager human capacity. The howl of the werewolf awakens a primal, subconscious dread in those humans that hear it. That dread is a recognition of something few consciously understand; the worst effect of the curse or disease of lycanthropy is not what it does to the body, but to the mind. Most believe the howl to be a man, crying out in pain and misery at what he has become; but deep down, the soul knows the truth: the howl is a beast, rejoicing in its power, and the newfound freedom of its bloodlust.
Aspect of Annihilation
The serpent is a symbol of evil throughout the world. Snakes are feared and respected as cold-blooded predators, stalking their prey patiently and striking with terrifying speed. The Cursed Naga seeks to consume all it can, but knows not why - not that it ever asks. Those that have seen it and lived are exceedingly rare, and these wretches find themselves at a loss to make those around them understand that despite all of man's boasting, humanity's surety that it is the pinnacle of creation, that it is special - in the eyes of the Naga, they are merely prey. The serpent teaches that only oblivion awaits, and an uncaring universe is deaf to mortal protests. Having glimpsed this reality in the eyes of the Serpent, survivors go forth with a terrible emptiness, the illusion of purpose and meaning they once clung to torn from them in a vicious snap of its jaws. Madness often overtakes them; a mercy, this, since they invariably fail to explain the demons that haunt them. For there is but one way to truly understand, and those that meet the gaze of the Cursed Naga rarely see anything else ever again.
In her Tiefling form, Katalox acts as an agent of chaos, laying groundwork for her siege against Wyrmwood. Upon Halloween night, when her forces charge to battle, she will once again resume her true form: the dragon.
In place of stealth and subterfuge, she gains terrifying power. The full force of her fury will be unleashed, and woe be to any that cross her path on that night.
Uncomfortable is the gaze of Katalox, the Tiefling; like a discordant note or a detail somehow out of place, something is wrong. Few can put their finger on what the root of that feeling is, nor do they dwell on it, if they can possibly avoid it. When meeting the gaze of Katalox, the Corrupted, in all her terrible glory, though, the truth is brought home in a moment: the gaze is that of the cat, surveying the mouse. Cruelty... hunger... and cold certainty of how it will end.
Aspect of Torment
While the Werewolf embraces its fate, giving itself over to the intoxication of the hunt, the ecstasy of the kill, the Hellwolf refused to yield its new form. Forever afflicted by its curse, torn between desire to escape and the compulsion to kill; a truly wretched existence. Worse, it died never having accepted what it had become, so that not even death could end its suffering. Still it walks the earth, dead yet not at rest. It rebels against the curse that consumes it, it grieves for those it kills, and it bitterly mourns the life it has lost. Above all else, it searches for a way to end the curse and find peace at last. The horror of the Werewolf is in a being forever lost, utterly overtaken by the curse within. But the Hellwolf is a tragedy: also overtaken, yet eternally trapped, at war with itself... never realizing the battle was lost long ago.
Originally an extremely limited run by Wyrmwood craftsman Christopher Bennett, Coffin Vaults are being made available to all who wish to claim them in this campaign.

THE WYRMWOOD WAY:
Exceptional Materials: Every relic that issues forth from the heart of the Wyrmwood is crafted from premium hardwoods, sourced from around the world. Wyrmwood always seeks to source woods ethically and responsibly; to that end, a portion of the sales of our rarest woods is given as tribute towards rainforest sustainability and preservation through the Rainforest Trust. For more information on our wood sourcing, visit our website. For more information about Rainforest Trust, click here.
Hand Rubbed Finish: To put the finishing touch on your Maker of Monster piece or to add one last flourish to your Coffin Vault before it's laid to rest, a close-to-the-wood oil and wax finish is applied to seal in the dark energies, while still allowing the natural character, feel, and color of the material to shine through - be it pleasing or horrifying to behold. We abhor the use of dyes or stains, and never employ them. A hand rubbed finish is labor intensive, but we believe the sacrifice is a worthy one. And, perhaps one night when the darkness closes in, and a primal fear of something unseen, something creeping ever closer, causes you to clutch your piece as a ward... at that moment, we're sure you'll agree.
From Our Hands To Yours: We humans are social creatures, and gaming is an inherently social event. Facing horrors both seen and unseen, man has always understood that in coming together, there is power. There exists a special magick that takes place when people come together to play, whether it's for a role-playing session or a board game night with friends or family. This magick is not without limits, but it can serve, at least for one night, to ward off the forces that gather against us, that wait in the shadows, just beyond the point where the firelight dies.
In accordance with this, each and every piece is crafted by the artisans that, too, gather in the heart of the Wyrmwood, the better to pool their skills and use them to strike a mighty blow against the forces of darkness. Each campaign pledge, website order or convention purchase helps us in our mission, and supports our work.
Our Name and Our Word: Wyrmwood stands for uncompromising quality and customer satisfaction, and as craftsmen we stake our name and reputation on that satisfaction. If you aren’t thrilled, we aren’t done. This is why we unconditionally guarantee our work - in this life. Whether the piece in question fails as a result of our work, is warped by the curse of Katalox, or even destroyed by a roving band of undead... Wyrmwood will be there to come to your aid.
The Craftsman's Promise:
Risks and challenges
This project, like all Wyrmwood campaigns, is low risk. If funded, there's virtually no chance that we will not fulfill it, though delays are always possible, and unforeseen issues can always crop up in manufacturing. That said, we will strive to ensure that we meet our estimates and deliver on time - or early, if possible.
We may add additional machinery should demand require it, but we should have most of what is needed to fulfill this campaign already in place. All that remains is to finalize designs, test and refine the production process, and purchase all of the necessary materials. We have already located sources for them, so we do not anticipate any problems in doing so quickly, once the Kickstarter funds become available.
We will strive to make sure any issues we encounter do not impact our backers, and have built into our shipping estimates some anticipation of delays. As our eleventh Kickstarter campaign, we have a good handle on the perils and pitfalls of developing and launching new products, then scaling up production, and are confident that we should be able to meet these estimates, come what may.
Wyrmwood has never failed to fulfill a campaign, and stands behind each and every piece we produce, for life. You can back this project with the utmost confidence.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
