WOW IN SPACE
WoW Buildings is extremely pleased to be able to offer our immersive 3D 28 mm Sci-Fi buildings, terrain and vehicles as our initial Kickstarter campaign.
These corridors, rooms, vehicles and accessories are primarily for Sci-Fi skirmish gaming and RPG/D&D games but could be used for just about anything Sci-Fi on the war gaming table.
We guarantee that all the files covered by this Kickstarter campaign will not be commercially available for at least 6 months from the date the Kickstarter ends. Get them now or you will have to wait for your next chance for quite some time. One vehicle, the Grav Tank, will only ever be available via the backer limited £45 pledge and will never be released commercially as an STL file or a 3D printed item.
While we say 28 mm, being 3D STL files they can be printed at any scale, 28 mm is the "native" scale used when designing. In our tests we have printed the same piece equally well in 28 mm, 20 mm and 15 mm. You can print at a smaller scale but smaller more intricate features will sometimes disappear.
In an effort to supply our backers with what we hope will be "first time right prints" we have put all of our designs and STL files through a rigorous testing process to eliminate as many possible causes of print errors before the designs have been released. Our process included:
- Designed in Sketchup
- Checked with Sketchup 3D Inspector and fixed if necessary
- Loaded Loaded into Windows 3D Builder, imported and fixed if necessary
- Loaded in to Autodesk MeshMixer, inspected and fixed if necessary
- Loaded into FlashPrint and layer checked
- Loaded into Cura 2.5.0 and layer checked
- Loaded into slic3r 1.2.9 and layer checked
While we cannot offer a 100% print guarantee we believe we have exhaustively processed each file to ensure maximum output and minimal design issues. You, as the printer owner, will still need to configure your printer in your choice of print software to generate the gcode to print each design. Only you know your printer and print software.
We do offer a 100% guarantee to fix any design errors we have missed and advised to us by our backers via this campaign page or our Facebook page:
All the room and corridor pieces join using the tried and tested OpenLOCK tile locking mechanism. WoW Buildings is a licensed OpenLOCK user.
With our rooms, in most cases we provide the walls, floor, outer walls and in room accessories. If you just want an inner room game then just the inner walls, floors and optionally accessories need to be printed. If you want a complete 3D environment for a space craft or space colony then with each package we also supply wall "outers", 3D extensions to the walls that also join using OpenLOCK to complete the entire 3D game experience.
So now the detail is out of the way, what have we got for you?
Pledge £1 - Come Join Us!
Even at this pledge level every backer gets something. We will provide you with one of our cargo range (see samples below) STL files and the pledge keeps you up to date with this campaign and all our upcoming campaigns.
Pledge £10 - Basic Builder
This is the first pledge level that will receive a complete sub range. In this level backers will get our space corridor system with optional outers. There are 18 files, 3 straights, 2 turns, 3 junctions and 2 doors and 8 outers. The doors actually work. The doors are printed separately and slide into the door tile so they can be opened and closed as part of your game.
Pledge £20 - Intermediate Builder
This is the first room level. The prison block. 6 room tiles and 11 outer tiles, 17 STL files. This level includes all prior levels. The prison block can be the basic minimum size or just keep adding more and more cells to make it as big as you need for all those space criminals.
Pledge £30 - Master Builder
With this pledge you get one of the biggest rooms, the warehouse, purposely built to fit all the cargo accessories offered in our early stretch goals. 14 room tiles. These tiles are the only room tiles that include the inner and outer detail on one tile. This pledge level includes all previous pledge levels and stretch goals 1 and 2 should they be achieved. The large cargo bay door, like all our doors, actually opens and closes.
Pledge £40 - Power Builder
This is a massive level. Two rooms, the infirmary and the reactor room, all prior pledge level rewards and all stretch goals. The infirmary includes 18 room tiles and 12 outer tiles. The room tiles include medical equipment such as beds, central monitoring station and isolation ward.. The reactor room is a myriad of pipe works and power generating structures totaling 11 room tiles and 8 outer tiles. Both important rooms to control in any battle.
The very large reactor room floor can be printed as one piece if your print bed can hold it or it has been cut into 4 pieces for smaller 200 mm x 200 mm size hobbyist print beds.
Pledge £45 - Ultimate Builder - Limited Offer
This pledge includes all previous pledge levels and all stretch goals and limited to just 20 backers, a one off, never to be sold commercially Grav Tank. The Grav Tank was artistically designed by Kemp Remillard and WoW Buildings is grateful he has allowed us to bring his art to life in this 3D design.

Risks and challenges
There are NO risks or challenges! All items listed above have already been designed and the STL files exist. As we reach each level we will release photos of the printed items and where possible painted items. The files have been loaded and processed through 3 slicing programs, FlashForge, Cura 2.5.0 and Slic3r 1.2.9. We have also loaded the files in Windows 3D Builder and MeshMixer and analysed the files for errors and fixed the errors.
