This page is dedicated to one of the tree models I created for the game table. It is a collapsible, full-color model, machine-cut from laminated card stock.
Unfolded, it measures approximately 4" wide and 5" tall. When flattened for storage or transportation, it measures about 4" by 7". My unique design was created for maximum convenience and portability; each piece can easily be set up for game play and flattened again for storage in a matter of seconds.
All surfaces are wet- and dry-erasable, and despite its light-weight design, it can support most metal figurines.
All pieces come ready to use, no painting or assembly is required. This particular piece features artwork that I commissioned from James Mosingo. I asked him to draw me a tree with a gothic/horror theme, and I was very happy with what he produced.
James is currently an art lead at IGT and Margaret Weis Productions, and an art designer at Konami. You can view more of his work here:
Copies of this tree model will be available only for a limited time, and only on Kickstarter.
On May 6, 2015, I launched my second Kickstarter campaign. I had created it primarily as an experiment, to gauge interest in what could potentially become an extended product line. I had created a number of paper-craft models for use in my table-top RPG sessions, and I had a lot of fun using them in games with my friends. This Kickstarter campaign marked the first time I displayed this work to the general public, and offered them for purchase.
On May 21, this campaign was successfully funded. Since then, I have been working diligently to develop these prototypes into high-quality finished products for my backers. The Mosingo-pattern tree model is the first one I have finished, and I am very happy with how it turned out. So, I have decided to offer a second round of orders for this piece.
Although it is no longer active, the original 3-D Fortress campaign may be viewed here:
Thank you for taking the time to check out my work. Please keep an eye out for updates and notifications, as I continue to develop, perfect, and release pieces from the original 3-D Fortress campaign, as well as other products.
Risks and challenges
I am currently a one-person operation, working from home and doing all of the development, production, and order fulfillment myself. The biggest challenge lies in producing all of the models in time for the stated deadlines. However, I have deliberately set my backer limits to reflect the current limitations on my production capacity, and I am confident that I will be able to fulfill all of my orders in a timely fashion.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
