Everyday we continue to learn more about the growing number of factors increasing our daily stress and anxiety. In a 2017 Gallup poll eight out of ten Americans felt overwhelmed by stress each day. These issues come from a variety of hurdles that stand between us and physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. One practice that continues to come up in journals, book, and news sites as a way to reduce stress and increase our well-being is yoga. Physicians all over the world are prescribing yoga as means for healing our bodies and increasing our health. Not only is yoga a tool for decreasing stress and anxiety, it may be a powerful practice for coping with severe trauma and depression, as found in studies reported by Psychology Today and Newsweek.
Knowing this, it is no surprise that it is estimated over 36 million people are practicing yoga in the United States.
Today, we are asking you to invest in the yoga movement by making a pledge to support a revolutionary new yoga book, World Peace Yoga. By making a pledge you receive your very own copy of World Peace Yoga.
When you back this project, your financial contribution allows for:
A second printing of book.
- A digital version of book.
- Bonus videos to enhance your home practice.
- A textbook for yoga teachers, studios, and schools, such as Heärt Montessori, a model Vegan Montessori Permaculture Farm School in Cincinnati, Ohio co-founded by Anna Ferguson. Here kids grow up learning self-reliance, sustainability, meditation, mindfulness, conflict-resolution, and compassion for all beings and the earth as a part of core academics.
Whether you are new to yoga, a seasoned yoga professional, or just a person looking to explore undiscovered capabilities in your life, there is a place for you in the community of readers who are transforming their lives based on the teachings in World Peace Yoga.
This book is revolutionizing the way people approach and practice yoga. Readers learn tools for creating inner peace through a variety of spiritual practices, including breathing, meditation, and posture techniques, as well as plant-sourced living. In addition, the author made sure to seek ways to publish the book ethically and sustainably, by using recycled paper and soy-based ink. Clearly, this is not just your ordinary yoga book.
World Peace Yoga is already making waves at Heärt Montessori, a new school that fosters a curriculum of core academics, highlighted by themes of empathy, compassion, and curiosity in nature.
Take a moment and get to know the author!
Anna Ferguson, the co-founder of World Peace Yoga studio, a yoga teacher for over 15 years, and most recently the co-founder of Heärt Montessori School, has worked for the past five years, but really her entire life, to now bring to the world a ground breaking new yoga book.
Anna wasn’t always set on becoming a mindful, peace-oriented yoga teacher. Growing up, you would have found her trotting off to her Catholic school during the week and devouring hamburgers and cheese fries on the weekends with her family. In college, Anna was introduced to the world of yoga, and she has never looked back. Her life and the lives of many participants in her classes and trainings have been transformed through the practices of yoga.
Her journey into becoming a yoga teacher, CEO of World Peace Earth, co-founder of Heärt Montessori, and now author of World Peace Yoga has been long and fraught with obstacles, but the lessons she has learned through it all have assisted her to manifest the most authentic version of herself. Her new book guides readers through the practices that have enabled her to harness and leverage her individual gifts and become her most influential self.
“I wrote this book to bring together the multi-faceted aspects of a yoga practice and to create a holistic, fun, colorful, and practical tool for living yoga on and off the mat. My dream is that this book touches the hearts of those who read it so they may live more fully from their most authentic self and realize the gifts they have to share with the world,” says Anna Ferguson.
World Peace Yoga is a companion book to Dr. Will Tuttle’s inspiring and moving book The World Peace Diet.
This book is intended to foster self-reflection and conversations to assist readers to answer: What is your best version of your self? What is a gift you bring into this world?
World Peace Yoga takes readers on a visceral and visual journey through art that inspires the soul. Incorporating unique and vibrant artwork was central to the construction of the book. Why is art important? Art cleanses us. Art rejuvenates. As Pablo Picasso said, “Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Beyond the aesthetics, the content of this book transports readers through the philosophy, poses, and holistic nature of yoga, allowing audiences to dive as deep as they’d like. The book goes beyond photography and uses colorful graphics to render complex philosophies into simple and easy to follow visual directions.
Throughout the chapters, readers take in a series of original collages created by Julie Kirkpatrick. Julie, a Jivamukti Yoga teacher, began her art career many years ago. While many of her pieces through the book may appear bright and whimsical at the onset, a deeper look often reveals a set of conflicting and complicated narratives about the everyday struggles we face as human beings.
Complementing the vibrant collages, readers are moved by the incredible graphic design and photography across the pages, thanks to the gifted Amanda Checco and the astonishing photography of Jesse Fox. Readers may find themselves opening the book randomly simply to experience the art, imagery, and graphics—which bring poses and concepts to life like never before.
“The medium of storytelling has always been a favorite for me – so I learned a lot about just the magnitude of elements that need to come together to create a very well rounded educational book that explores the World Peace Yoga philosophy in depth. My favorite part was developing and creating the educational graphics, info-graphics and button icons that appear throughout the book. We worked on a lot of pointers and tips to sort of move the readers through the content and encourage them along the way. I love education and figuring out how people learn is interesting to me, so its really sparked a passion for educational graphics that I will continue to pursue.” - Amanda Checco
The sequences in the book are designed to bring balance to your body and life by using the ancient wisdom of the chakra system. The sequences are color coded according to the chakras, the seven main energy centers or aspects of consciousness in your body. You may choose a sequence that focuses on balancing and bringing harmony to a particular chakra or a sequence that includes all the chakras. With sequences from Yoga Basics and Vinyasa to Yin-Restorative, Prenatal and Postnatal, there is truly a practice for every day of the week and for every body.
There are also graphics and detailed instructions for creating and individualizing posture sequences for your own personal practice or for teaching others. The easy-to-follow sequences and step-by-step instructions are perfect for teachers looking to find new tools for their classes.
The digital version of World Peace Yoga includes 32 pages of poses detailing alignment, modifications, and technique for the benefit of yoga newbies, as well as experienced practitioners.
World Peace Yoga is positioned to bring you greater peace and impact your life and the lives of those you surround yourself with in a meaningful way. This book is ready to provide a new generation of yogis with a holistic and integrative approach to living peace within and outside of ourselves.
With your pledge, you may receive your copy of World Peace Yoga, both in the limited edition hardcover, soft cover, and in digital version. Part of your contribution also goes to support Heärt Montessori School, a new school co-founded by Anna Ferguson that fosters a curriculum of core academic, highlighted by themes of empathy, compassion, and curiosity in nature.
While yoga and the message of world peace continue to grow throughout the world, there are still too many people who have yet to experience the profound and healing nature of yoga. In addition to making a pledge, or if you are not able to make a pledge at this time, please take a moment to share this campaign with your friends, family, and co-workers. “A full spectrum exploration of why, how, and what yoga truly is and strives to be and embodies. This is the real deal manual for complete harmonic yoga oneness.” –Kip Andersen, Film Director and Producer of Cowspiracy and What The Health
"In World Peace Yoga Anna shares her kind, dedicated, and authentic spirit telling the story of her yogic journey and offering a vision of healing for the global community. At heart a story of connections, World Peace Yoga is about embodying the values of yoga and making them connect in real life on and off the mat, in awakened compassionate action. As I say in my song "The Yoga Mat is a metaphor," World Peace Yoga demonstrates yoga as the holistic practice it was originated to be in service of peace and compassion and affirming the union of all living beings. I am inspired by her humility and the beauty of the vision of cultivating a more just and peaceful world one breath, one meal, one moment at a time.” –Stic of Dead Prez, founder of RBG FIT CLUB
