Conventional chairs force our body into a 90-degree angle between our back and our thighs, putting enormous strain on the back and shoulders. Our body has evolved with ingenious mechanics to maintain balancing our weight in the most efficient way. The head sits directly over our pelvis and is held there using minimal force from the muscles on our back, neck and shoulder as well as our front muscles from the abdominals, pectorals and core muscles. This is the position we assume when standing or walking. And it’s also the position our spine takes when riding a horse.
Simply put, the body is not designed to sit for 8+ hours a day. If you’re like us, it’s hard to avoid. If you’re going to sit for extended periods of time, the Workhorse Saddle Chair range will make your workday far more productive and enjoyable.
Easy. It creates the perfect sitting posture.
While sitting in a saddle, our three spinal curves are maintained and our pelvis rolls forward to sit directly under our head and shoulders, with our thighs sloping down at a 45-degree angle to the ground and approximately 135-degrees to our back.
This new way of sitting stimulates and strengthens the back, abdominal and core muscles and eliminates the health issues caused by sitting at a 90-degree angle. Your posture will also gradually correct itself, as you spend more and more time using Workhorse Saddle Chairs.
Tailored for comfortable, healthy sitting over long or short periods of time, the Workhorse Saddle Chairs offer the same health benefits of standing…while sitting.
Everyone needs a strong backbone in business!
The patented, changeable position of the back and armrest on the Pro and Plus models allows you to rest your major muscles groups throughout the day and easily change your sitting position to increase blood circulation to your muscles. It also takes the load off neck and shoulder muscles, which helps to prevent conditions such as RSI.
The Workhorse Saddle Chair is available in four modern colors, presented below. Once our stretch goal of $60,000 is reached, we will be able to unlock a further range of colors for all backers.
Please note that the premium bonded leather for the Slide and Rise models is also available in white. Additionally, the Pro model luxury leather color choices are black or brown.
If we are successful with our campaign, you will be surveyed to provide your color, finish and height selection.
David France, chiropractor and founder of WSC, brainstormed and designed the Workhorse Saddle Chair concept from a personal, direct experience...to help fund his education, he worked with horses.
Through Dr. France’s riding and anatomical and Chiropractic studies, he discovered that when people sit in a saddle, the body assumes an ideal spinal position. After many years of research and prototyping, he came up with his final concept for the Workhorse Saddle Chair.
We can’t thank you enough for checking out our project and helping us make the Workhorse Saddle Chairs range a reality.
We know not everyone will be able to support us with a pledge, so even if you can’t give a dollar or purchase a Workhorse Saddle Chair, if you’re a supporter of the collection, you can help us spread the word on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram and anywhere else you can think of!
