The Devil's Run: Route 666 is a fast-moving and hard-hitting vehicular combat board game (for 2-6 players) set in a post-apocalyptic America.

There are four types of vehicles: Bikes,Trikes, Buggies and Cars. Each of these vehicle types play differently due to how they drive, their weapons and their arcs of fire. The game has story driven missions which are a mix of full throttle racing and maximum carnage vehicular battle, with an immersive ruleset to make you feel like you're a part of the post-apoc action. We use six and ten sided dice, statlines and modifications to represent every aspect of the game, from scenery effects, shooting, ramming and sideswiping, to using equipment like Nitros, Oil Slicks and Smoke Screens.
Devil's Run uses a rolling board mechanic, to ensure all players feel like they are on the edge of their seat; fall too far behind and you are out of the race, get too far in front and you could open yourself to an airstrike or an unexpected obstacle in the road. Live fast and die hard on Route 666. Can you survive the Devil's Run?
Each vehicle comes with a statline to use in the game, with stats for its allocated weapon(s). You will also find an arc of fire diagram as well as a description of any special skills the vehicles might have.
The Factions & Background of Devil's Run:
The post-apocalyptic America of the Devil's Run world is a dog-eat-dog wasteland where only the strongest survive. All major cities have been wiped from the map with the exception of San Francisco, the lone bastion of survival in a once civilized nation. The city has been split by the constant struggle for control by two rival gang's of road warriors: The Law Haulage Company and The Haul's Angels. These two gangs vie for total domination of San Fran and it's people, scouring the barren wastes of the near-dead America for any resources they might find to help in their struggle.

When the old flying fortresses are spotted in the sky, you can bet your last drop of gas that The Law and the Haul's Angels will saddle up, along with every other up and coming wannabe gang. They will get on their bikes, trikes and buggies, they will strap into their weaponised Chevvies and armoured Cadillacs and they will drive hard. When they collide on the highways in the wastes outside San Fran, there will be death and destruction; there will be CAR-NAGE!!!!! They will race and shoot their way to the drop (wherever it may be) and another Devil’s Run will have begun...
What's in the Box?
The Devil's Run board game includes everything you need to play the game, including road tiles, models (3D designed and cast in high detail resin), dice, statcards and obviously a full colour and illustrated rule book and mission book.
Beyond the Box
Word Forge Games is very keen to offer Devil's Run in 2 forms. Firstly, a 'pick-up and play' board game that can be played quickly over a beer or a soda for a hour or so between a couple (or gang) of mates. Then secondly, as an in depth gaming experience, where people can build a gang of weird and wonderful vehicles and a narrative campaign of sagas and developing characters. It is important to us that people convert and create, that is why we have made this a 20mm scale game, meaning people can include their conversion of for example, Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars and a whole plethora of Devil's Run character models. We are so passionate about the use of conversions that we are also planning on producing conversion kits to complement our Advanced rule set that will enable just that!

We expect to be able to give more away as the Kickstarter progresses and we have a lot of great Stretch Goals planned too.
Add-ons (Goodies to add to your Pledge):
Any of the following can be added to any pledge at the price listed. We will capture what you want via our Pledge Manager, once we have finish designing all the unlocked stretch goals.
Once the Devil's Run Kickstarter has finished we will work our socks off to complete all the stretch goals and Advanced Level Pledge designs. When they are complete we will open a Pledge Manager. We also promise to update you on our progress on a weekly basis.
Based on past experience (of us and others), we will be charging shipping after the Kickstarter concludes based on the actual costs incurred to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager after the campaign ends. This is so we can be fair to all our backers (shipping is rarely one size fits all). We will ship your rewards at our cost to our international hubs. Depending on where in the world you are, we will either ship to you from our hub in the USA (NA and some ROW backers), UK or Poland (EU & ROW backers). As a rough estimate, the game will cost about £10-15 to ship within Europe and NA and approx £25 elsewhere (for a 1.5kg parcel), but this may increase or decrease depending on the quantity of stretch goals we unlock and your choices. Please note that while we do our best to get you your rewards in a timely manner and at the best delivery cost we can, you may not necessarily receive your rewards before the product makes it into distribution in your own country or before it's made available in conventions and special promotion opportunities. We hope that the special price and exclusive items you will get during the Kickstarter will make up for any such possible lag. However, if this is something that is not acceptable to you, please do not back this project, and instead wait for the retail release. Thank you for your understanding.

Risks and challenges
The team behind Word Forge Games have been involved in over half a dozen Kickstarters, either as contributors or as part of the planning and delivery teams. We have learnt a lot. This is logistically a relatively small project, (being a boxed game, rather than a table top game), we have produced a lot of what we can up front (including most of the models and artwork) and we know where to source the bits we need to. That said, not everything is 100% in our control (supply of dice or printing of books for example), but we think we have enough slack in the system to cover these things. Also importantly, this is a non-licensed product, meaning we completely control our deadlines and our own IP, ideas and the actualisation of them.
