The Mystery Of Woolley Mountain uses a classic point-and-click adventure interface with 4 unique interactions; harking back to the halcyon adventure game days of trying multiple verbs on objects to see the protagonists reaction.
Not only will you be able to play different characters throughout the game, but you can interact with almost anything in the world:
Talk and have conversations with strange folk, examine all that you see around you pick up, use and combine objects. With this exploration and investigation you will solve an array of puzzles in your quest. Do you dare enter the world of The Helmholtz Resonators?
Set in a surreal fantastical world where a group of renegade time travelling audio scientists are trying to save a town from a malevolent witch who has kidnapped the children on the mysterious island of Woolley Mountain.
VanDamme Laudenkleer received word of the witch's actions and set off alone to stop her. Our protagonist, Garland Vanderbilt, upon returning from shore leave, quickly discovered that VanDamme had gone solo and must now try to find and convince the rest of the crew to set sail for Woolley Mountain to save him, free the kidnapped children and put a stop to the evil witch.
The five time travelling scientists known collectively as The Helmholtz Resonators are an odd bunch. They can each play the bass, guitar, drums and keyboards, conduct science, travel through time, but are prone to personality flaws. Let me explain:
You will meet many other characters along the way, but for now I will keep these a surprise. You will find out more about each character throughout the blog updates once you have chosen your reward.
This is I, me, one man, WHO LOVES ADVENTURE GAMES AND MUSIC! And here lies the twin altars at which I creatively pray, and thus, is born, this adventure game that I dearly love making.
Music is not only a huge part of the game, but a huge part of my life. My fellow musicians and I have composed and created an album entitled The Mystery Of Woolley Mountain that serves as a soundtrack to the game. A concept album of electro indie synth pop, featuring ten tracks including:
The beauty of this project is bringing to life the characters in my fictional band The Helmholtz Resonators through the genre of point & Click adventure games, a genre that has and forever will be my total passion when it comes to gaming. I regularly back all kinds of these games on Kickstarter, so it seemed a no brainer to combine my love of music and games and create my very own point and click adventure on Kickstarter!
Also, just being able to release this game for fellow adventure game lovers will be an ambition filled, and who knows? I might be able to make more games, and do this for a living.
Because of what I wrote above, I desperately want to finish this game and get it out there. But it seems to me that I can get that extra help and support to finish this game to its best possible completion, by using Kickstarter.
The funds that I raise for this project will allow me to get some extra help in the coding of the game, so I can concentrate more on finishing and expanding the writing and puzzles in the game, plus to add more finesse to the animation and illustrations. I will also be able to upgrade my equipment to ensure I can finish the game quicker and ensure playtesting and marketing is covered.

I have built this wondrous monster using UNITY, I had never used it before, but taught myself to ensure I could make my dream come true. Lots of studying, getting up at 6am, working to and from work and evenings, running up stairs and fist pumping and jumping and shouting Adriaaaannnnn!!! Oh, no, actually that's Rocky. But the other stuff is true.
Risks and challenges
Every single bit of money raised from this campaign will go into finishing this game. It will get made, with your help, that is a guarantee!
However, you can never plan for the random events that life throws at you, even if you try and plan for everything. Every resting bug, technical challenge, or just unexpected daily life crises could cause an unwanted bump. But I will be posting updates as regularly as possible to ensure all backers are informed about the game's development. I will do all I can to control costs and make sure what is needed gets done as efficiently and swiftly as possible.
I will be committing at least 40 hours per week of work for the art and programming to ensure the other acts are on track. I am planning to launch the beta version of the game by the middle of 2017, and launch the complete game on PC & MAC in October 2017.
