Retail Pledge Level

Hi Heroes!

I've received a number of messages from retailers over the course of the campaign so far and it makes me realize I need to rethink my approach to retail pledges.  Getting retailers on-board will really help push this campaign forward and offer a future for the game beyond the campaign and a foothold for future expansions so its good for all of all.

I plan to re-work the pledge levels for people pledging for 5 or more games.  The RETAILER ONLY pledge will be marked for 6 copies (3 games per case) and offer a significant discount for retail stores only (proof will be required).  For purchases of more than 5 copies I will ask you to back with the "$2" level and contact me for details on pricing and shipping charges.  Look for the changes to the pledge levels and adjust your pledge accordingly.  If you're a retailer and still have questions please contact me for further details.

Cheers!

@Ugo: I've taken all of the feedback into account and adjusted the pledge levels accordingly which I think is fair to all backers. Its tough to please everyone but I'm trying my best to keep the majority of backers excited about the game.

I aree with you Ryan and i understand your need of money to finalize your game, but if you sell to a retailer a copy of deluxe edition at $50 he can charge $80 a piece to a buyer for a good $30 gain. All of this free of shipping cost! We normal beckers will need for a copy $95 + shipment. This will not attract beckers because why take the risk if you can buy a copy of the game at the same price or less at no risk later? I don't suggest that you have to necessarily lower the single copy cost but in my opinion you mustelidi lower the gap between $95+shipment and $50.

A retailer being able to back at $50 a copy is not an indication that the MSRP is $50. Retailers have to purchase then sell, and need to be able to profit. Yes even santorini and other games from Roxley and others have offered similar deals to retailers (typically behind the scenes). Retail generally pays less than 50% of MSRP.

There are group pledges available at a discount on this kickstarter page that represent a savings. Dropping your pledge is your right. I'm trying to do what I can to ensure that the game get made at all and an injection of funds from retail buyers buying in large quantities can help that happen.

      Regards,

(warning, small rant ahead) Now that you have a retail pledge level i know that I'd get only 50 $ value for the deluxe pledge at most. considering the high cost to me it seems more and more likely I'll drop this kickstarter. Treat me like an investor, not a customer. I want a BETTER deal then what retail is getting, because i'm taking the risk to back you and possibly not see anything in return. I've dropped out on ghostbusters, dark souls, tmnt miniature games because of retail pledge levels. As an opposing example, santorini had a big discount for anybody buying 25 copies of the game, without restrictions of that person being a retailer.
