About the book "Women of Kuwait"
In this book, I am trying to create a visual reference for anyone who asks me about Kuwaiti women. I have collaborated with the writer Nada Faris, and the book will be published by Daylight Books.
Since moving to New York from Kuwait I have learned that the everyday American has no conception of what daily life is like for women in modern-day Kuwait. Seeking to address this, I began making portraits of women in their bedrooms in 2015 and asking them about their lives. This intimate collection of environmental portraits and text provides a never-before-seen look at what it means to be a young woman in Kuwait
Bringing this book to life will take a lot more than the dream that compels me to create it. Doing it well will require a significant investment that I am not presently capable of funding independently. This is where you come in.
