Here is the current status: There is an early implementation of pad and Xbox controller in the game. However, this implementation is not fully complete, and would require more work to fulfill. This is why pad/xbox controller support has been set as a stretch goal, we want to do things properly and not just give you a slap dash port of controls. We want it to feel right, natural if you will and this will require time to develop, especially the menu systems for spells and actions.Last updated:
One or two month after the Kickstarter campaign, just the time to give for us to organize things properly!Last updated:

4 sq kilometers is actually huge for a Hack&Slash.
In third person or first person games, open worlds are usually much, much bigger. Why ? because they can have a low density of elements on the screen. Seeing the horizon allows the level designer to have a low density of elements around the player. For our game, the isometric view force us to always have something of interest on screen. It basically means that we cannot have large empty areas without element breaking the monotony of the environment to explore. We need really high density, and it makes the 4 kilometers squared map full of interesting elements to discover and explore!
Also, don't forget that the game also features randomized indoor levels, bringing more replayability to the game!Last updated:
The short answer is “yes”. That is why we ask for $225,000.
We also have stretch goals, which provide for more features, if we are fortunate enough to achieve the stretch goals.
We are so pleased that everybody likes the quality of our work. We are being compared to very big games. I think maybe this is the source of concern for our development budget. In a way, we take this as a great compliment!
The work you have seen so far has been produced for a budget of zero. This shows that we are committing our own time, at our cost, and that we can achieve a lot!
The full-game design phase is done and all the planning. The budget is calculated based on our project schedule and the staff and resources required to produce the game. There is nothing included for us, until the game is on sale.
Over the last few years we have learned a lot and we believe we have the right foundation to move forward into full production. We have formed great partnerships with excellent providers and we have created a very efficient production pipeline. The last 4 years have been spent, not only on what you can see, but all the development tools and design work necessary.
So, if we are funded, we can focus 100% on game content creation using the various tools we created, in addition to the CryEngine tools which are a very valuable asset for us.
The more funding we raise the more features we can include!Last updated:
Steam copy of the game and no DRM copy of the game - How does the exclusive armors, weapons and pets skills apply ?
Many backers have asked about the Steam copy of the game and the DRM-free copy of the game. How will it work, is that 2 different copies, and will the armors, weapons and pet skins be available for each copy?
We discussed internally about that – initially, we wanted them to be unique for the backer – and finally thought that it would be much better for us to build a community around the game, as well as to show our support for those of you who believe in us.
So yes, KS backers will get two digital copies of the game, and depending on the tier at which each of you are backing, the armor sets, pet skins, etc. will apply to all the copies of the game you're getting. This means you can gift one of the copies of Umbra to a friend (yay!) because what we want is to finish our game and to get as many people as possible to play it.
Therefore, the higher you pledge the more stuff you get!
Once again, we want to say thank you to everyone. You're helping to get us closer to our main goal, so you deserve to get more bang for your buck!
Note that the Early Access will only apply to the Steam key.Last updated:
Unfortunatly, we cannot tell you that Umbra will support OS X.
We will follow Crytek's move if they decide to have a compatibility with Mac, but since there is no official CryEngine support for OS X, we cannot promise it to you.Last updated:
UI customization is something we have considered but cannot confirm until we have completed the UI implementation of all the features.Last updated:
Will I be able to use the "skin" of the Kickstarter exclusive weapons and armor sets later in the game?
In short? Yes! You'll be able to, say, craft a weapon in the game and apply to it the skin and visual effects of the KS-exclusive weapons you'll get from backing the KS campaign. Same goes for the armor sets!
Backing at Sorcerer? Then you'll get to apply the skin and visual effects of weapon set 1 to the weapons you craft!
Backing at Priest? Then you’ll be able to use the skin and visual effects of Armor set 1 for the armor you craft in Umbra! And the same goes for those of you at Monk with access to Armor set 2!
On top of that, and depending on the funding we get, those at Warrior or higher will get to apply the skin and visual effects of the KS exclusive green gear.Last updated:
