Wo Fat has been invited to play the Roadburn Festival in Holland and Deserfest London but we need your help to make this happen.
After 10 years slinging fuzz-laden heavy riffs, all the work has paid off and a dream of ours is on the verge of coming true. Wo Fat has been invited to play at the Roadburn Festival in Holland and DesertFest in London in April, 2013, and we will be planning a European tour around both of these festivals. Our fourth album, "The Black Code", which is our first album on Small Stone Records, is already receiving rave reviews, a buzz about the band is brewing and the time is ripe for us head for Europe and rock!
Check out Roadburn here: http://www.roadburn.com/roadburn-2013/saturday-april-2th/
And here's the announcement from Desertfest UK: http://thedesertfest.com/london/wo-fat-lay-down-the-fuzz-at-desertfest/
Here's what people are saying about our new album, "The Black Code":
"And you think Kyuss Lives! crumbled under the weight of all that legal nonsense? No, the truth is they caught wind of The Black Code and decided that continuing with the reunion was completely pointless." - The Broken Beard Blog
It's certainly "Noche del Chupacabra" that convinced the Roadburn team to make WO FAT a leading guest at next edition, but I'm sure that "The Black Code" confirms even beyond their expectations that their performance will be one of the highlights of 2013 ! - Temple of Perdition Blog
"Still as being their Small Stone debut, The Black Code is undoubtedly going to serve as a landmark in their career, aligning them with the likes of labelmates Gozu, Lo-Pan and Freedom Hawk as some of the best up and coming fuzz the US has to offer." - The Obelisk
"Wo Fat may still be creeping around the underground, but don’t think that this creature of the depths won’t be pulling itself out of the muck to spend time in the sun. These guys are on the rise and The Black Code is the elevator that will lift them to a greater audience, a more receptive ear. It’s an album that just stuns with every listen, not just in song structure, but instrumental performances and sonic execution." - The Ripple Effect
We'll be touring with fellow Small Stone labelmates Abrahma, who are from France, and the tour, while still in the planning phase at this point, is looking like it will be very successful with a couple other large festivals in other parts of Europe being lined up as part of the itinerary.
But we need your help to make this all happen. The money that you donate will go directly towards the purchase of plane tickets to get us to Europe and back as well as helping us to cover some of the other costs associated with the tour, including flight cases for gear, transportation and fuel costs while in Europe and the manufacture of merchandise to sell while on tour.
For those of you in Europe that dig our music, this is your chance to help us get there so we can play for you live and in person.
What do you get from helping us to make this tour happen?
First you will have our very heartfelt thanks and the satisfaction of knowing that you helped a humble band of riffians to rock out with fans that wouldn't get to see them otherwise. You'll also receive one or more of the rewards listed to the right. Below are photos of some of the rewards so you can have a better idea of what we're talking about.
This is the wicked "Voodoo Cauldron" design created by Mike Lawrence specifically for this kickstarter campaign. He will be hand screen printing posters that are a limited edition of 20. They will be numbered by the artist and will be 18"x24". We will also be making postcards and screen printed shirts with this design.
Below are the various gig fliers that you have to choose from:
And here is the specially commissioned design created by artist Joshua Foster for the European tour shirts. These will be printed on black shirts, but we haven't decided on the color of ink yet.
As you can see, we've tried to put together a really cool list of rewards that includes some things that can only be found here. We hope that you will give us a helping hand in making this European tour a reality and we thank you for all of your support.

Late breaking update:
We've had a couple requests for the option to receive a couple different reward items. Rather than having a whole bunch of different combinations, donate the total amount for all of the items that you would like, then email us directly to let us know which rewards you would like, we'll make it happen, no problem. If one of them is a limited quantity, select that reward as your choice and then add to the total whatever amount is needed to cover whatever else you would like.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Our biggest obstacle to making this tour happen is the upfront cost of the airfare, which we are sure our fans will be able to help us with. We are very confident in how the tour is shaping up because we have multiple contacts in Europe using their knowledge and experience with the European heavy music scene helping us put things together and feel that it will be very successful.
Select one of the rewards that you would like and then increase the amount of your pledge by the dollar amount for the other reward(s) that you would like to receive. Then send us a message letting us know what the additional reward(s) that you would like to receive are. We will also be sending out emails to everyone to confirm their choices once the campaign is concluded.
