Sam and Lou's parents crave their morning coffee.
What happens when they don't get it? The brothers are determined to find out.
But taking their parents' coffee isn't such a great idea...
One part classic monster film, one part cheesy action movie, and all parts comedy, the book will keep children and adults chuckling with subtle jokes, overt underwear, and bad one-liners.
The book will be 40 full-color pages, hardcover with a dust jacket, and offset printed on 140 gsm woodfree uncoated paper. (translation: a stunning, sturdy book)
Our project is in its final act! The story is scribed. The illustrations are inked. The presses are primed. We just need your help to print beautiful books.
This book was created by three caffeine fiends: Grace Millsaps, Ryan Murphy, and Danny Marin. Grace and Ryan wrote a children's book and were ready to begin their second. When Ryan met Danny, Danny shared photos of his elaborate monster costumes and drawings. Danny was the perfect illustrator for Grace's premise about parents turning to monsters without coffee. After a few meetings, they joined forces on an (ig)noble quest -- make the most ridiculous children's book ever created.
After 5 solid months of drawing, editing, coloring, designing, and drinking absurd amounts of coffee, the book is complete. The files are at the printer. We've even received the first set of proofs. All that's left to do is harness a few lightening bolts to bring the printer to life.

USE OF FUNDS
“I love this book, but I'd like it more if I had a matching t-shirt.” said no one, ever.
Your donations will be used solely to print books. You'll find this campaign is a little different than most. For higher level donors, we're not offering t-shirts, posters, or a handmade hairpiece inspired by a character from the book. We love making books. Books are the best thing we can give you.
If you love this idea and want to see the book thrive, get multiple books. Give them to kids with absurd imaginations. Give them to friends who are a stubbed toe away from murder in the morning. Give them to lovers of movie cliches. Children's books are for children of all ages. Spread the love.
$10,000 - Ryan will finish and give all donors It Came From a Brain, his next ebook project, before this book is released.
Risks and challenges
This baby is done. We're going to put it in your hands one way or another. However, this is Grace and Ryan's first time coloring and designing a book. There could be hiccups that put production behind schedule or even compromise the quality of the final print product.
We've gained experience and contacts to make the printing process run smoothly. We value books as physical objects, so we're going to do everything we can to make something you'll love to hold and read with the people you care about. The proofs are looking good so far, and we'll be patient and diligent in getting every aspect of the book perfect.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
