Reviews & Praises
“I found out that while Gemblo is similar to Blokus, it's a superior game in many ways and is one of the nicest looking games I own. Gemblo is one of the easiest, fun multiplayer abstract games I've played in a long while. Its fast, rewards good strategy, and can be taught quickly.”
Tom Vasel, Dice Tower
"Fast, beautiful abstract game. Not too much of a brain burner. A very pleasant gaming experience."
- Richard Reilly from Boardgamegeek.com
"This is one of my most played games....I can play this with multiple types of groups and nobody ever complains when I pull this out. I just do not get bored playing this. It scales well for up to 6. The components are great."
- William Crispin of Boardgamegeek.com
“I have wanted this game for a long time, I can't wait to round up the family and get this on the table!”
- Mike Keane from Boardgamegeek.com
"Gemblo drew quite a few glances when we cracked it out at the FLGS for game day. This was a winner - plays quick, plays a large # of players and is colorful. Bad part is it is hard to find in the USA."
- Chris McGowan from Boardgamegeek.com
“ Gemblo …makes Blokus seem a bit light. Gemblo is a similar game, but … playing with all six people is insane and wonderful. I highly recommend it…”
- Chris Fenwick from Boardgamegeek.com
"This game scales perfectly from 2 to 6 players. It's beautiful to look at, fun to play and easy to learn. A must have for any collection."
- M C from Boardgamegeek.com
An absolutely stunning game visually (and it has purple pieces!), I prefer [Gemblo] because 1) Gemblo scales well from 3-6 people,... and 2) you are allowed to play off of any node (not just corners), so each piece allows more connecting plays. This latter point makes it even more challenging to effectively block your opponents, raising the tension between deciding to keep others from encroaching on your territory or to try to expand your reach. It has expansion cards that may spice up play a bit,...
- T. Hedden from Boardgamegeek.com
How many thoughtful six-player games are there that look fantastic, can be taught in a minute or two, and play in 30 or 40 minutes? Very few, if any. That's a good reason to own GemBlo...
- Joshua Miller from Boardgamegeek.com
A game pretty and simple enough that you'd be proud to have on your desk.
- Travis M Spomer from Boardgamegeek.com
Has become my favorite area filling game... I like the hex feel of the game, and the way the pieces connect without attachment that allows other pieces to squeeze through. It is real eye candy, and always attracts viewers who never saw the game before. Plus, it's hard to win.
- Todd Redden from Boardgamegeek.com
Abstract, Geometric. A really fun, light abstract game. Plays fairly quickly and leaves you wanting another go. Got this in Korea in 2005.
- Mike Haverty from Boardgamegeek.com
A great abstract that can handle up to 6 players. It is simple game that scratch that tetris itch. My parents like the game because it is simple enough. The game is quick to teach so that the impatient people can start playing right away.
- John Paul sodusta from Boardgamegeek.com
Thank you Kickstarters, I look forward to your comments and contribution!
Note: Gemblo will retail for $29.99 (excludes shipping). With the expansion cards, it will retail for $34.99 (excludes shipping)

Risks and challenges
Design: So excited to be working with Max Holliday, a proven designer who has done some cool works with Mayday Games to redesign much of the packaging for Tok Tok Woodman and many others. I will update you on our progress throughout the project!
Manufacturing: We would like to bring the games into the US before January and start shipping them out. Since the production is fully managed by Justin Oh, I am excited about the quality of the game and the finished product. One of our current goal is to keep the moldings of Gemblo secure and fully monitored in Korea. And to keep Gemblo competitive in markets, I must order at thousands of copies at a time.
Shipping: Moving a bulk by filling the whole container is a good way to reduce the cost of the game. I will work with a proven shipper, who has had no mishaps to make sure shipment is made safely to the US.
Fulfillment: Many friends in the industry have offered their fulfillment services for these games to be shipped from their warehouses. We will select the one with most experiences with Kickstarter projects to minimize faults.
The Marketing: This is the area where I need your support with. As of now, we are not stocked at any retailers, shops nor distributors' warehouses because this is the very first project of making the US versions of our board games. You are my only outlets, as of yet. However, I hope to build off of Kickstarter and also reach out to around 5000 retailers all over the US, 50 plus educational retail dealers and partner up with online shopping vendors. Your contribution would be like oil to the engine of sales! I am also grateful to all my friends in the industry who have offered to help but it is key for me to make a wise choice!
Industry: Toy and Puzzle industry is a very tough place to penetrate in the US. With your support, I believe that Wisemen Games will have a place to jump start in the market place! Your support will be the key to this very project because this is how "Wisemen Games" will begin to learn, celebrate and educate with many joining forces to bring back our beloved tradition of hanging out together as friends and families to play fun Board Games.
Won't you help my project come true?
Thanks so much for your participation and remember that anything you can donate or help with will make a tremendous difference. Please feel free to share about Gemblo with your friends and family!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
