When I was given the game for TUG, I couldn't get the game because its for pc only. (I have mac)
no TUG key for me either.
Did anyone ever recieve the TUG key? I never did get mine.
o.O is this entire project dead now? what happens to those who funded said project u.u I mean... it was a nightmare even to change my shipping addrss for a shirt.. looking pretty hopeless
OK, it is time to refund everyone's money as this project is just not happening!
I've still not received *anything* other than the original YogVentures betas (which weren't worth playing) and the keys to TUG (which is also not YET worth playing)...
I paid for the $750 tier... and have received *NOTHING* other than the above unusable 'games'...
I've contacted them LOTS of times and keep getting told they're working on it, they're looking into it... and to wait... so I wait... and wait... then contact them again asking if there's any progress.
I've kinda given up on ever getting anything from them... and am actually pondering invoking the ToS from KickStarter to get my money back instead - since the agreement (at the time) stated if they don't deliver the rewards they promise then you have the right to ask for your money back... but I would like *something* for my money...
yogscast isn't answering for mails. I'm waiting few weeks already - still silence. Can somebody tell them to give backers what they deserve?
Auditing Projects. Thanks for the bones you are tossing out. Unfortunately none will run on my system. I-7, NVIDIA GTX 295, 6 GB ram.
No TUG key for me either
I didn't get TUG key yet....
still no key in spam or normal folder
Did not receive TUG key yet.
First Winterkewl games folds and now there are massive TUG layoffs... GG Yogscast, I'm afraid I won't be funding any more of your projects ever again after this omnishambles.
You should also now have received an email containing a Landmark key from ourselves, Please let us know if you haven't had your key :)
i have responded like 4 times with like a day time betweed now. still no key the only thing i get from the yogscast is this email
Thanks for contacting us!
Due to the large amount of emails please allow a bit of time before resending your email. Please rest assured that everything will be read.
Your TUG beta key should be arriving from email@example.com with the title "Greetings from Nerd Kingdom - TUG Early Access Key Included". It may have ended up in your spam box - please check it!
Ya what the heck, I even emailed them and still nothing. Just get me the TUG key, I don't care about anything else, but you guys owe us A GAME. Cheap, unfinished, minecraft clone, whatever, just give us it. How did they even distribute them? Cause I haven't gotten an email with a TUG key and I even sent them one and haven't gotten a response.
Didn't receive a key?
did you have to pay a certain amount in the backers rank to have chosen to recive a free copy of "landmark" because i didn't get any copy :/
I didn't receive a TUG Key =(
i didn't received a TUG key :(
No TUG key recieved...
@James: Complain to Yogscast, they were the ones handling physical rewards
Never got the poster never got the shirt and now i get a replacement game that dosent work on mac FMl
Actually we are "owed" something, we were promised a game. Kickstarter works as an investment into a project, it might not be all we expect it to be but we nonetheless need to get a project that is "complete". Personally I have no problem with TUG, maybe we can get them to add a Yogventure DLC pack to us including maybe a Honeydew varient character or something but I am not horribly mad. I am more upset with the t-shirt design i got and missing poster I am owed than the actual game
Well this is a major disappointment...
Although I lost over $100 to this project, I am going to defend Winterkewl and Kickstarter by reminding you all of the fact that WHEN YOU HELP TO FUND A PROJECT ON KICKSTARTER YOU ARE NOT MAKING A PURCHASE. YOU ARE MAKING A PLEDGE. THEREFORE, WHEN YOU SPEND THAT MONEY YOU ARE TAKING A RISK AND ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO RECEIVE ANYTHING IN RETURN. YOU ARE NOT OWED ANYTHING BY ANYONE. Why can't you people get that through your thick skulls?
Minecon Yogscast fall out down to "stress related misunderstanding" says Notch!
No TUG key here, either. I'ma send in an email and see if that helps.
I finally received my TUG activation keys.
This is an additional email that was sent to me:

> I wanted to address some of the misinformation in the media and elsewhere about how and why Winterkewl Games were unable to complete the game. The truth is that although Winterkewl worked really hard to deliver Yogventures, technical and personal issues meant they weren’t able to create the game we’d all envisioned at the start of the project.
> We set up a contract with Winterkewl early on to allocate funds between the two parties. Winterkewl would deliver the game and Yogscast would receive a portion of the Kickstarter money. That $150,000 was spent directly fulfilling physical rewards for Kickstarter backers, packing and shipping the rewards, covering marketing expenses - including the booth at E3 2012 - and supporting the project over close to three years. In addition we have spent (and will continue to spend), considerably more than any money we received on rewards for the people that backed this project.
> To address a specific point that has been raised about hiring a programmer: we did discuss this with Winterkewl in an effort to help them out, although wasn’t part of the agreement and would have been paid for directly by Yogscast. Multiple professional programmers were approached to work on Yogventures, however they all declined the position. Furthermore, the hiring of at least one programmer we courted was vetoed by Winterkewl. There were no further funds requested from Winterkewl.
> As with most things to do with Yogventures, we bowed to Winterkewl’s expertise. Our focus was on making sure the final game would live up to expectations, but since Winterkewl were unable to complete the original game, our focus is now on delivering positive outcomes for you guys.
> The first part of that promise was a copy of TUG, but there will be more games and rewards coming soon. We are really happy and grateful to Nerd Kingdom who are committed to providing a fantastic gameplay experience and working closely with us to deliver as many of the digital rewards as possible. The rest of the rewards will be communicated directly to you - not via the media - as we are able to announce them.
> All the best,
> You're getting this email because you either backed Yogventures through Kickstarter or bought a pre-order version or beta access.

Use your search tool in your email and search for "Nerd Kingdom" and/or "TUG" it'll show. Mine was sent to me on July 17th, and I had no idea." worked for me... thanks! :)
Still no key here.
Use your search tool in your email and search for "Nerd Kingdom" and/or "TUG" it'll show. Mine was sent to me on July 17th, and I had no idea.
Was the TUG key sent out via email or what?
Same Captain British ive not got my TUG key yet, if they are giving them out to backers why haven't we got them yet.
Are they considering open sourcing the game? to at least the backers?
Still haven't received my TUG key :/
Think its time to all move on, your not going to be able to get a refund and yogscast are very good for helping every backer get a free steam key of Tug and for those Mac people like my self your just going to have to wait for them to port it or buy a PC.
Over all I feel Lewis has done his best to help us out, as he really did't need to as we voluntary gave our money to help this project.
Winterkewl is no more so that basically ends it all but thanks to Lewis he saved his project by pulling out which was the smart move so that the ideal of yogventures lives on but just under the name of TUG.
People can bitch all they want but in the end you gave your money knowing you will not get it back and you are getting a game that is better, has a bigger team working on it that has better skill sets that will make yogventures a reality rather then the shit we have been shown by winterkewl these past years.
People look to the future not the past, as we will not move forward, improve and make a even better game possible if we dwindel in the past mistakes of others.
I received this email today.
Winterkewl Games LLC says:
Thanks for you donation during the Kickstarter, we really appreciate the help. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds as all of the funds were spent creating the version of the game that is released now. The physical rewards have also been sent so those rewards are also out there.
It's with deep regret that we can no longer continue to work on the project but The Yogscast have ownership of all the assets and code and have made announcements that they will be teaming with another company to try and make the game they intended in the first place.
They have setup a customer service email which is firstname.lastname@example.org please email them and someone on their staff will be able to help answer your questions.
I'm still waiting for my TUG key.
Unfortunately, no amount of complaining or reporting them to Kickstarter will work. When you make a pledge, there's a claim from Kickstarter that says-
"Kickstarter does not guarantee projects or investigate a creator's ability to complete their project. It is the responsibility of the project creator to complete their project as promised, and the claims of this project are theirs alone."
So tbh, if they're claiming the money is gone there's no chance in getting a refund.
But like others, it would have been nice to find out by receiving an email, not hearing that an email went out that I never got! Or reading rumours and chatter on twitter.
I emailed Thursday saying I have yet to receive anything (emails, TUG codes, etc) but have yet to receive a response. I can imagine they are inundated but it would be nice to have a response from a human.
Winterkewl are already bankrupt and the guy's life has gone south fast. He put up a explanation on the private forums that someone re-posted here: http://www.reddit.com/r/yogventures/comments/29rduc/winterkewl_games_is_dead/
He explains how he messed up with loosing some of the money straight away after some guy left while still getting paid and how he put a bunch of his own cash into it and even lost his job and wife through the whole thing.
A guy also wrote here: http://projectorgames.net/blog/… 2 years ago about how he didn't see this project taking off with the amount of money they had with so few people and time.
Before raging about things on the Internet it's always helpful to put in a little research time first to back up what your talking about :)
As I do understand what happened, I think people should ask Winterkewl Games for a refund, as we were not given what we bought. Winterkewl Games out their reputation on the line, and now it's broken down. And if people now ask for their money back, they would sure be bankrupt, since they probably used their money on creating the game. And therefor I think Winterkewl Games would never see the day of light with any games coming out. And their names have been noted, so no new company will ever be created with success. They better apply for some companies that has good reputation and stay there! (For their own best).
@Kyle Yogscast NOW totally owns the game. During production they left it to the actual production company, which didn't work out. But Winterkewl Games made the Kickstarter and received the money and attempted to make the game as per their agreement. I doubt Yogscast could demand to manage the money totally themselves at the time. Winterkewl was not working for them but developing a game with their properties.
I could be wrong though, it's possible they had something in place where they could demand responsibility of all the money, but that seems unlikely. If you're going to team up with a production company you have to trust them to know what they're doing. In this case it didn't work out. If Yogscast wanted to do it that way they could have put their name on the Kickstarter and hired everyone themselves. As it is they were only responsible for providing the physical rewards while Winterkewl was to provide the game.
In summary, Yogscast probably couldn't take control of all the money. I realize a lot of people equated the Kickstarter to basically "Yogscast is making a game." but it wasn't a case of them hiring Winterkewl, it was a case of Winterkewl being allowed to do a Kickstarter for a Yogscast game. (Again, just my take. I haven't seen what sort of agreement they had.)
@Timmo Yogscast put their name on the game, the characters were created after them, they sold it to their fans as if it was their game. They even had a section on their forum for it. When I had questions about the rewards and my account for backing the game, I was referred to email@example.com for assistance. The latest update about the game says that Yogscast has received all of the game assets. With all of that said, the Yogscast clearly owns the game and should have been more responsable with the $567,665.00 that was given to them to create and release it.
@Timmo They shouldn't have plastered their name all over it and made it out to be their game. Honestly I only backed it to support Yogscast, not because I thought it was going to be a great game. The way it was handled is very disappointing.
@Kyle Yogscast didn't have control over the funds because the game was being made by WinterKewl games, not the Yogscast. They are not programmers (mostly.)
This is just great...thanks for nothing!
Ignorance or "inexperience" should not be an excuse in a common since situation. Any average Joe knows not to make a contract that will allow a person to be paid a lump sum without finishing the work. Why didn't Yogscast have control over the funds if this was their game? I call B.S. on the latest update. It seems like Kris is being the Yogscast scapegoat as a PR move.
