A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

A lot of friends and clients gave me valuable advice after my first Kickstarter crowd-funding exercise. The mostly discussed topic was focusing. Apart from landscape, some people also wanted to use big lens to take portraits. Some use larger aperture to freeze fast-moving action while other photographers use films of different sizes, such as 612 or 624, etc.
1. Use low-price image sensor to assist in focusing.
Earlier we introduced two types of 617 cameras - with and without focus adjustment function. There was little demand for the former. Probably using butter paper to help focusing is a bit of trouble in outdoor shooting.
To address the issue, we now use another away to reflect the image on the screen - through the lens and image sensor. Get a low-price image sensor, place it where the film is installed and connect it to the external screen. It will show the image to be captured on the film. Install the film when you are certain the focus is accurate.
The downside, however, is that it only shows a small part of the target shooting area so the butter paper is still useful because it allows the entire target shooting area to be previewed.
2. New camera sizes available, 612 ,617, 624
Though it takes some extra effort but film cameras is a still a big cost-saver, compared with shooting with digital camera. Join the league of Large format lens photo-taking with Twofourths camera! Enjoy the fun of a totally new way of photo-taking in lower cost.
Is high resolution photography meant only for the rich?
In2017, high resolution photo could only be taken by expensive digital camera such as Sony A7R of full frame size sensor 42MP. Canon 5Ds~50.6MP, Pentax 645Z~51.4MP, Hasselblad X1D ~50MP, Fuji GFX-50S~51.4MP.
How to make a high resolution photo with low cost camera?
Alternative, it can be produced by film scanning tool. But the film size, film ISO and quality of scanner affect the photo resolution. According to professional image expert, a ISO 100 4”x5” film can be scanned to 100 mega pixel, a block of ISO100 135 film into 7 mega pixel and ISO 50 was changed into 16 mega pixel.
ISO 100, 6x12 film can be scanned to 50 mega pixel ISO 100, 6x17 film can be scanned to 80 mega pixel
ISO 100, 6x24 film can be scanned to 100 mega pixel ( same size iso 50 film, can be scanned to double )
The camera lens is able to condense the real vision into image circle projection . If the flange focal distance is correct, image display is clear, at the same time, the film put into at accurate position records the image at that moment.
Different lens produce different size of image circle, we need to adopt suitable film for taking photo. Following large format lenses are common in the second hand market. Click this to find further information of numerous large format lens. ~ Large Format Photography. Info
The green zone lenses are smaller, their image circle is between 100mm and 165mm, so that 4x5 film will cover it.
The blue zone lenses are little bit bigger than green zone's, these image circle is between 170mm and 200mm, so that 5"x7" film cover it
Although default film are 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 we offer a lowest cost option that also allow convenience on film use and developing. The shortcoming is that top and bottom of image will be reduced to change the object from square to rectangle. About 50% of the image taken will be cropped.
To make up for this, we offer three solutions. 612, 617 and 624 camera via 120 format as film media, it is popular and easier to find than 4"x 5" and ,5"x7" and 8"x10"film.
the Twofourths camera DIY kit Solutions compatible with any 120 format films, As a recording media, the effective size 617 (6cmx17cm) is almost equal to 50% of 5"x7", if we assume 5x7 is a Hotdog. 617 is equivalent to the sausage, tomato and cheese from the hotdog, with the top and bottom of bun wiped off. both 617 and 624 good at taking landscape and panoramic photograph. 612 is good at portraits photo taking little bit.
Assembly, The camera body is made of three main parts. Part A. Lens mounting board and wooden board. (to lengthen the distance between the lens and the film)
Part B, Exposure space and winding up key for film, designed for 120 film, metal made tripod mount at the bottom allows users to stabilise and elevate the camera.
Part C. Camera back, the small round window in the centre is designed to allow users to check the position for film winding.
Follow the steps and assemble the camera before use. Other than the lenses we offer all parts shown in the 617 camera and installation guide. Beside the lenses, we offer all parts of 617 camera and installation guide. step by step installation is required works. It's not complicated. It can be done in few hours.

What is Flange Focal Distance?
Every large format lens carries the distance (“mm”) in it name. it is lenses focal length, made easy classification for lenses type.
Every large format lens also having a flange focal distance announce by the manufacturer, This distance figure is their minimum length of each lens. Keep the lens rear and the film apart according to this distance. The subject standing over hundreds feet or infinitely far away.will be distinct clear. It is great for landscape shooting.
Lengthen the focal distance and focus on closer images.
The key to taking excellent photos with our low-priced camera is accurate focus, adjustment of focal distance between the film and the lens rear, by adjust the focus ring. The camera can be used to shoot at close range from 30cm ~ infinitely far away, such as group photo. Use the focusing assist panel to reflect the image on the screen to simulate the film and focus at the image, mark the different target distance when the image is clear.
The marks on focus ring to assist take sharp photos someday with same distance.
