      So I'm not quite sure how you calculate the cost of a trip but my car cost about 55 dollars to fill up and I did a 12 mile trip which it states it cost me 40 dollars. So I'm not sure if you are adding in brake cost and other things but still seems high to me. Also a little note when I go to name a trip and click on the box the text should go away then not go away when I start typing. One more under the category section I would like to be able to add to that or at least one that says work instead of me using business. Thanks

      I find it very unusual that Apple requested a device so they could test it. They must have not understood that you're app only uses the web services.

      I'm sure you didn't choose cordova lightly. I get the desire to have a universal code base (HTML5) but the non native look and feel is a biggie. It's noticeably sluggish on iOS and the Map is basically unusable right now. I look forward to the missing functionality, and do wish you luck with the map UI.

      Well, Apple will communicate with us, although it will be on their own schedule. If they reject the application, it will likely be for reasons we can address. If they reject it and it seems impossible to meet their demands, then we'll rework the app as a Web application since they can't stop that. :)

      No, we're in the same spot WRT to Apple. It's been 11 days since the last communication from them. I checked and the device I sent them has NOT been plugged into a vehicle.

      Christopher, the device draws very little power, especially when the vehicle is off. I've had several in multiple vehicles for months without any battery problems. Nevertheless, I'd like to get more data from you. I'll send an email.

      Jeff, Tyler, I'm happy to help with anything you need. The simplest things to get started would be to fork and add some functionality there.

      One thing I'd like to have is a page that shows information and detailed map for a trip by trip ID number (i.e.…). That would provide a link for iCal and RSS feeds as well as the weekly email. I've been meaning to do it, but I can't start on those kinds of things until the app is done.

      Actually to clarify that a little bit more one of my cars is reporting it's correct location on the carvoyant site but it is incorrect on Fuse. Carvoyant is also reporting it as still in the middle of a trip even though it has been parked for 12 hours

      I have a question for the other backers!

      How many of you are interested in building apps or web sites that do something interesting with the data from Fuse? Would anyone be interested in a joint effort to build a simple dynamic web site that Phil could use as a piece of sample code?

      Thanks Phil. Seems to be working perfectly right out of the box with zero problems or hassle. I can see data flowing into Carvoyant website and also the location data on I would suggest a one page printout included in the packages you ship that point people to both these websites as it took some digging for me to figure out where I needed to go to get things setup - this wasn't intuitive. I still don't know what the bar code on the device was for - I used my iphone bar code reader and it didn't seem to recognize the website. So far the product seems to work well which is not always my experience with Kickstarter 1.0 projects so a big congrats on that. I will probably buy a second one for my other car based on what I've seen so far. I hope the data analysis and reports get better as it seems a bit basic now, but I can see where this is headed and it seems like it has awesome potential. Well done! Awesome start! For all those waiting, I think you'll be happy when yours arrives too.

      Tucker, that's good to hear. I've had good luck with this cable:

      I've got a sample of a cable coming that is a Y, so you can leave the diagnostic port open. What's special about this one is it isolates the Fuse device when something is plugged into the other port so that the Fuse device doesn't interfere with the diagnostic equipment. That would allow a truly seamless installation.

      My Fuse install went smoothly today. Cool! Mine is currently installed on a Lexus RX450H and it hangs down into the area where my brake/gas pedals are - there is some space between but it's not ideal based on where Lexus has placed the OBD connector in this car. Per the earlier suggestion, a cable and some sticky tape so I could mount the Fuse in a location that doesn't hang down into the area where feet are likely to kick it loose is something I will need to look into.

      Phil, the Fuse concept is really exciting and I am happy to be a part of it! As Don Knuth once said (or wrote), "Beware of bugs in the above code; I have only proved it correct, not tried it."

      At some point you will probably want to launch a real developer forum and a place for us to share some code.

      I was lucky enough to receive my early bird device on Saturday. I created my account last night and plugged my Fuse in to my Scion xB this morning.

      I first created a minimal entry for my car, and didn't bother to enter the VIN, which is apparently mandatory for proper functioning yet not marked as such in the preliminary UI. I did not receive any data until I did so. Now that I have entered the VIN, the UI shows my car and its current location as expected.

      The device (and the API) collect, store, and provide all sorts of interesting data but the web UI is very simple and shows nothing more than the location. Actually after viewing source to the app.js file), that's not true. I would need to be driving the car in order to see additional information. I'm gong to have to ask someone else to drive the car around so that I can generate a stream of test data!

      I have two important tips to share:

      1. When you visit the "Use Fuse" tab after you create your account, enter your email address when prompted to enter your user name.

      2. Don't forget to enter your VIN as noted above.

      The OBD connector on my Scion xB was accessible and easy to find. The Fuse device, small as it is, now extends past the bottom of the dashboard and might be knocked out of place by a wayward knee. I am going to see if I can find a right-angle connector and/or a short cable.

      Yeah, i sorta get it. They don't want people changing rewards after people have pledged. Altho in this case, it was a change that was in favor of the backers. I suspect KS doesn't want to get in the middle of judging whether a change is in the best interest of backers of not. In this case it's pretty clear. In others, maybe not so much.

      Eli. We didn't make that decision. We made the decision to go from 90 days free service to lifetime service during the campaign. Kickstarter doesn't let you update the text of the rewards. So, the rewards still say and will always say 90 days.

      In the middle of February they said that there was about a 2 month delay. Have you been able to find a new programmer and have you received the hardware yet??
