They are myths, legends, allegory. They aren't supposed to exist, but they are the only ones who can save our world.
Our world has fallen before and now the darkness has returned. The only thing in it's way is "The Uncanny". A 40 year labor of love.
THIS IS THE COMPLETE STORY OF HOW THE UNCANNY COMES TOGETHER!
The Zen Brawler. The Voodoo Wildchild. The Faceless Mystery Man. The New Age Oracle. The Master of the Steel Skin Technique. The Psycho Soul. And the Gnostic spirit. They are “The Uncanny”. The Uncanny, is a mystery school of revolutionaries fighting against conformity and spiritual oppression.
In the St. Elizabeth's Hospital for the Truly Exceptional, a young lady hasn't been able to sleep for the past 7 years. Her imaginary friend "Gno" visits her every night telling her fantastic stories about the fall of the world, Oracles and The Uncanny. But now she starts to wonder if these stories are true when a character from Gno's stories is admitted to St. E's.
The Uncanny is an ongoing modern day super hero comic book. It's a little bit Matrix, a little bit Doom Patrol and a heaping of every thing fantastic thrown in. This is a story about finding your place in a world that's no longer normal. About being the best you can be. Achieving your potential. The hook is, all of the heroes in The Uncanny have achieved their abilities through discipline, knowledge or strength of will. I have been publishing The Uncanny for the past year at my website: wyldcardstudio.com.
The prologue and issues 1 through 6 have been published completing the first story arc showing how the team came together.
Ultimately this is about a lifelong love affair. I have been a comic book fan since I was 5 years old. The first comic book I ever read was Superboy and the Legion of Super Heroes #201. All my life I've wanted to be a comic book artist. I wasn't like most kids who at one time wanted to be an astronaut or a football player before they settled into what they really wanted to do. Never at any time in my life did I doubt wanting to be a comic book artist. So I pursued it once I graduated from high school. In the "extreme 90s" I actually got to do a little professional work. I did a story in DC Comics Showcase '94. I thought I had my foot in the door, but found that I wasn't able to catch on to any other books. I did some work for Gary Carlson and Big Bang Comics. I had flirtations with plenty of companies that didn't turn into work. So I decided to go into creator owned work and published 1 issue of a sci fi comic called NanoSoup thru Millennium Publishing. As time went by real life and bills made me devote the majority of my time working as a web designer. Comic books had to take a back seat. But how can you ever forget your first love? Comic books, in my humble opinion, is the greatest form of art and storytelling. And I've found that I have to tell my story. To get my creations out there, too. Every time I tried to walk away, comic books called me back. So I am turning the Kickstarter community to help make this dream come true.
Everyone knows that a big part to creating and selling your comic books is promotions. The best and most fun thing to do is to attend the many comic book conventions where you can meet and sell directly to the fans. This is where Kickstarter comes in. I want to start attending and selling at the conventions and I want to raise money to print up special convention only covers of all of the issues of The Uncanny. To this date I have publish 7 issues of the story, a book collecting issues 1-3, a book collecting issues 4-6, and a Trade Paperback collecting the entire story.
That is, in total, 10 different books I want to print up a print run of 100 copies for each with new covers that can only be bought at the conventions. And as one of the rewards for backers, they will get copies of the books with a cover that can only be bought through Kickstarter.
Commissions: I work digitally. I have a Cintiq and I do all my artwork with Photoshop. I print my commissions on thick bristol board. The hi res digital file is deleted and I only keep a low res file to put on my website. I sign directly on the printed art. Your commission will never be printed again.

If everything goes well, any extra money earned will go towards adding rewards and increasing the print run of the books. Extra incentive rewards may include things such as trading cards, t-shirts, etc.

Risks and challenges
All art in the books are done and are printer ready. The Kickstarter Only covers are already laid out and in the process of being inked. If this campaign is successful, the covers will be completed before the deadline. I already have an established relationship with a printer for all custom covers and commission work.
Commission work may take a little longer depending on how many needs to be done and as we all know, life can get in the way sometimes.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
