Seeing the forest AND the trees
Voxel Farm works great for destructible terrains, but is limited regarding foliage and towns. Until now trees just disappear if the voxel terrain is damaged, leaving a hole and not much else. We created a new system that overcomes this limitation. With this new fusion between Unreal and Voxel Farm, it is now possible to reach the various levels of destruction we want. If a forest or a town is destroyed, it can re-spawn after a given period of time, or when certain criteria are met. The video below showcases this new system, as well as some updated airship controls. You are now able to switch between perspectives. A turret on the front of the ship can be controlled by AI or by the player.
A Typical Town
Everything is destructible in the video.
Merchants and NPCs
Working on lip-sync for NPCs.
Fairies can fly but they are also great climbers. Fairies are fragile but are able to "tank" by climbing up and around their opponent and delivering point-blank spells or strikes. Fairies can also do critical damage by striking weak spots on monsters.
In this demo we are using the bubble spell and filling the bubble with lightning. Once the bubble is full it creates Ball Lightning. Bubble is what is known as a container spell. Containers can be many things, from stones to weapons, anything that can hold a magical charge.
Mount of the Month
A dried Leaf.
With the new system even a place as big as the sky-port can keep the same rules of destruction as the rest of the game.
