The story is set in the beautiful yet dangerous world of Etherion, which is made up of thousands of islands floating above a dense Miasma. Rising at night and burning off during the day, the Miasma spawns terrible creatures and is a constant menace to the people of Etherion. The only safe areas are located at the top of the islands. Recently the magic keeping the islands afloat has begun to wear off...
As a Wild Mage, you act as the right hand of the Tower of Heaven, extracting adventures, escorting Ships, delivering goods, reclaiming lost islands.
No traditional leveling. Gain power by obtaining spells and skills directly from monsters.
Every monster has different skills or spells you can make your own. How you acquire them varies as does the rarity of the monster. Spells can further be empowered by gear and talents. Some spells and skills are class specific, but not all.
Dungeons in Wild Mage take various forms and scales.
Traditional dungeons | Mount based adventures | Airship based combat | Small team or solo
Explore old ruins, caves, secret passages with traps and puzzles.
Acquire crafting recipes, mounts spells, and skills. Light to no combat.
Airships play a vital role in the world of Etherion.

Applies to monsters as well as objects. No two cuts are the same.
Wield a large variety of powerful magic.

Stretch goals will be announced during the campaign.
Hi everyone. I am Lucas McCann, owner of Luna Orion studio and lead developer of Wild Mage - Phantom Twilight. Video game development has been my passion and dream since I was 11, when I first started making games using the Quake engine while working at the US Air Force teen center in Panama. With Quake and Unreal, I have been developing AR/VR technologies for the past 20 years and implementing them in restaurant/nightclub industries for the past 5. But what I truly wanted to do is to make my own video games, which is no easy feat and requires lots of risk taking and sacrifice. But if I don't follow my dreams now, when would I? I have been developing Wild Mage on the side and trying to fund it myself. However, it has become clear to me that with the amount of effort needed to make this game the quality it deserves and a newborn daughter, I need to be able to work on it full time and I need help and external funding to bring this game to life. I am fortunate to have my brother, Rick McCann to assist in art design. Rick has 11 years of experience working at Dreamworks Animations and also worked on Riddle of Steel prior to that. We're also excited to be joined by the talented Hyunjun Cho and Fabio Amurri in music composition. The team is small but looking great, and we're confident in our abilities to make Wild Mage - Phantom Twilight a masterpiece.
As for funding, the $10K that we're asking on Kickstarter is obviously only a fraction of the total cost of making the full game. But it would allow us to "kickstart" our project, focus on developing the game, and get it to a point where we can find additional funding through other channels.
Risks and challenges
Game development comes with its inherent challenges and uncertainties, delays and unexpected costs being the two most common risks. We've done a lot of work upfront to minimize such risks and have planned and estimated timelines to the best of our abilities. However, the iterative nature of game development means that schedules cannot always be guaranteed.
Our commitment to you:
- We will use ALL of the funds raised to further the development of Wild Mage
- We will do our best to deliver each module of the game on time with the highest quality possible
- We will be in constant communication with our community to report progress and inform any change to our content, features or schedule
