ABOUT THE SERIES
While navigating the dangers of a post-apocalyptic society in the sky, Cola, a teenaged girl fighter pilot and her family fight to protect The Dawn, their flying fortress and home. With the world in chaos, bullets dwindling, and fuel drying up, the few survivors in the sky must use anything at their disposal in order to survive. Battles rage from ship to ship as jet-pack warriors, planes, and crew members scratch and claw to claim the few crumbs society left behind.
Wild Blue Yonder is a 5 issue full color, limited series. It is set to hit shelves in 2013 and is meant for an audience Teen and up.
GETTING OFF THE GROUND
We have been working on getting Wild Blue Yonder off the ground for close to three years, but the timing has just never been right. It is hard to devote yourself full time to a creator owned limited series. Life and paying the bills usually gets in the way. We're hoping this Kickstarter gives us the opportunity to devote real time to getting the project up and running without trying to fit it in between other work. What's so cool about Kickstarter is that it not only gives us a chance to create projects we truly love but it also gives you the chance to get in on the ground floor of a brand new series with some fun limited edition rewards.

For reasons long forgotten, the world is an ecological wasteland. Sea level is a mess of radiation and fire. To survive, dwindling civilizations migrated ever higher into the mountains, trying to escape the creeping death the earth had become. In time even that wasn’t enough. The lucky ones took to the skies in large makeshift flying machines, fortresses created to carry the fortunate few of the enduring population. Those unlucky ones trapped behind near the ground had a slow and agonizing death. The only true hope of survival lies in the skies above in the flying machines that became their homes.
Inevitably, war broke out among the survivors as they fought over these machines like the countries of old fought over land. That war continues to rage, and the sky is now the home of epic battles between warring factions.
Some ships have become the home to tight knit families with jobs passed down generation to generation. One such ship is The Dawn. As the age of fuel and earthly energies comes to an end, The Dawn has become the most special, and sought after, of these very special ships. Built on technology that not even its head maintainer can completely understand, the Dawn runs on a combination of solar power, hydrogen and magnetic energy. The Dawn is a true family. A family wanting nothing but to survive and live amongst the clouds in peace, but willing to fight to the death to protect their way of life.
There are, however, those who have chosen to live by a different code. One such group is the Executioner and its fleet, led by The Judge. Yearning to capture The Dawn, the Judge and his predecessors have spent decades commandeering other flying machines in order to build a civilization of the fittest. He culls his army from survivors, expanding his power and ability to rule the clouds. However, as the few mines remaining run dry, the Judge knows it is only a matter of time before his flying machines come crashing to the ground out of fuel. This is why he must seize The Dawn, the flying machine that can last forever.
We open our story on Cola, a young girl pilot and the daughter of the commander of The Dawn. Although she is quickly becoming known as one of the best in the sky, she doubts herself because of the tumultuous relationship with her mother and the commander of the ship Olivia. Cola must heal the relationship with her mother and find the courage to save her family as the number of surviving fighters dwindles and the Judge and his fleet closes in on them.
